From 1 Peter 1:22-25 I want you to see that your salvation in Christ, through the eternal word of God, enables and produces in you passionate and sincere love towards others, even in the midst of suffering, so that no matter the trial, you will bring glory to God.

The final Antichrist of the tribulation will be empowered by Satan and like the great antichrist figures of history will abominate the temple and try to destroy the Jews.

From Daniel 9:1-19 we encounter Daniel’s amazing prayer of confession and humble plea that the people of Israel might be restored to their land according to the promises of God made to Jeremiah the prophet. Daniel’s prayer is recorded in the pages of Scripture because it is a model prayer for all believers today.

In Daniel 8:1-27 we learn about the character of the final Antichrist of the tribulation from Antiochus Epiphanes, whose evil character and wicked actions gave the Jews a nearer future example of the much worse final Antichrist to come immediately preceding Jesus Christ’s return to earth.

From 1 Peter 5:10, I want you to see that your sufferings as a believer are temporary. The God who saved you will not only use your trials to make you more like Christ, but will also bring you through your trials to his eternal glory. Therefore we can rest in him, even in the midst of intense persecution.

In Daniel 4:4-37 we learn that God sometimes gives, interprets, and fulfills dreams, that He sovereignly reigns of all, that He is to be worshiped, and that he is able to humble the proud.

From Daniel 3:28-4:1 we see how a proud pagan king first honors the true God of the Jews but then after his conversion worships and praises the one true God as his God, having been saved by grace.

From Daniel 3:16-27 we learn that strong, biblical faith, looks to God for rescue from trials, temptations, and death and that salvation from sin, evil, and danger is ultimately received in the life to come.

From Dan. 3:1-15 we learn from Shadrach, Meshach, and Abenego how to have courage in the face of temptation and to obey God at all costs, trusting in the Lord to deliver us.

In Daniel 2 we are given the first great prophecy of the book of Daniel, a prophecy that maps out the major Gentile powers of world history all the way through the tribulation to the second coming of Jesus Christ and His eternal kingdom.

Daniel’s example, in Daniel 2, provides us with a crash course in how to be a faithful employee and give God glory even if your boss is a tyrant.
