In what some have called the greatest chapter in Scripture, the apostle Paul gives the ultimate hope for those who live by the Spirit of God. Our old nature has been done away with through Christ, and we no longer have to live condemned or in fear, for nothing can separate us from the love of God that is ours in Christ Jesus our Lord.

It is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone that we are saved. Romans 6-7 are a pivotal moment in the epistle where Paul addresses some of the "what" we are to do in light of the grace that has been given to us.

Faith is the assurance of what God has done through his one and only Son Jesus Christ. Faith is the assured hope that how God dealt with our sin through the blood of his Son Jesus we can have eternal life. Faith is the evidence and proof of what God did even when we cannot see it face to face. Faith is comprehending as fact what cannot be experienced by the physical senses.

All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God (Rom. 3:23). And yet in His mercy and grace, God has justified us through the blood of Jesus shed on the cross. This foundational truth of the Gospel should shape how we view ourselves in comparison to God's glorious standard, and how we treat others.

In Mark 2 a paralyzed man is lowered through a roof to rest at the feet of Jesus. Moved with compassion Jesus heals this man of both his paralysis, and more importantly, his sin. Jesus' response confuses many and angers some in the room, but prompts us to ask ourselves the question: what's the real problem in our own lives?

Jesus tells us to abide in Him and He will prune away the things that are not of his will. If we're hoping to bear good fruit in our lives we must be connected to the right roots...

If the Spirit of God is inside of you, if your heart is still beating, if there is breath in your lungs then God is not done with you yet on Earth. To participate in this humanly battle with eternal implications we must fight to pursue Christ and dwell in His saving grace in the midst of our sin.

In Nicodemus' conversation with Jesus in John 3, Jesus reveals to us that we must be born again to see and to enter into the Kingdom of God. What does it mean to be born again? And how do we know if we are born again?

In Luke 17 Jesus teaches on sin, faith, and duty. From faith the size of a mustard seed, to forgiving a friend numerous times, we see what Christ teaches in these crucial areas of what it means to be a disciple.
