Almost Accurate

Just what the title says. How on earth do Jake and Ryan combine the adapted works of Edgar Allan Poe and Sony's latest PS5 exclusive into one episode? How does that even work? Does it sound as disjointed and potentially all over the place as that title sounds? Yes. Well kinda. Both of these are great though so why not put them into one episode together, dontchathink? Hosted on Acast. See acast.com...

An extra late night recording session has led to an extra silly episode so apologies in advance everyone! The boys have watched the opening two episodes of Loki Season 2 and so far it's off to a great start! Sony has slimmed down the PS5 and fattened up the price tag on extras they want to charge you for, Netflix is apparently trying to start up their own Dave & Busters, Taylor Swift is holdin...

It's officially SPOOKY SEASON and the boys down at Almost Accurate HQ have been hard at work curating a list of all (or at least 34) of our favorite horror movies and horror movie recommendations for this October. How'd we do? Well Ryan went all out in his list, so if you want to hear us talking about Cabin in the Woods, Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho, Japanese horror movies and EVEN MORE then stick ar...

Jake has been diving into the Starfield via Microsoft's magical Xcloud, and Ryan has been watching some GEMS of horror movies. That's right, we're talking about The Gate, we're talking about My Bloody Valentine, we're talking about Evil Dead Rise, we're talking Joe Dirt and Joe Dirt 2 (wait maybe those last ones aren't in the same genre). So sit back, and relax as we take you to some far away plac...

Ryan has been on a TEAR lately and he's got to tell you all about the Meg 2 and even more importantly (and insanely) They Cloned Tyrone- a Netflix Original Movie which is somehow flying under the radar... but hopefully after this episode, that will no longer be the case! RIP Bob Barker and Jimmy Buffet Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Whew.... my hands are tired from the sheer length of this episodes title, but don't you listener's worry, it's quite dirty with content as well. Jake is a sucker that bought that Read Dead Redemption Re-Release, and also went to see Oppenheimer (which rules btw) Ryan went to see Disney's Haunted Mansion and is bucking the trend of critics who say it sucks (because he thought it was actually a fun...

Fresh off a summer vacation, Jake and Ryan are back and they have been BUSY. The boys check in on their summer reading, including the newly billion dollar earning Barbie, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle: Mutant Mayhem, Mission Impossible Dead Reckoning (Part 1) and, just because Ryan was feeling nostalgic, rewatching the original Fast and the Furious. Ahhh... what a simpler time it was when it was onl...

This week the boys have a Nintendo Direct to get through, E3 is canceled for the next two years (and let's be honest, probably for the rest of forever) and more! HBO's The Righteous Gemstones is back for a two-episode Season 3 premiere and it is excellent as always, and the boys have also watched Flamin' Hot, the story of the creation of flaming hot Cheeto's which is either a wholesome family movi...

It's time for a colorful and eye-catching swing across the Spider-Verse folks! Also teeing up in the news, Apple is finally realizing that there is money to be made in gaming, Marvel's Spider-Man 2 FINALLY has a release date, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth has been delayed (kinda) until 2024, and Will Smith is starring in what looks like a bad open-world zombie game with an even worse title! (It's called...

Just like in Tears of the Kingdom, Jake and Ryan are picking up a lot of disparate news stories, awkwardly rotating them around and then fusing them all together to create yet another episode of Almost Accurate. SPOILER ALERT: Tears of the Kingdom is REALLY good. Another spoiler alert: Sony's Spider-Man 2 looks epic, and that weird handheld doesn't seem like it's going to be the most useful thing....

It's 2023 and there's another writers strike, and we at Almost Accurate are going to take the very bold position that if you do work for someone, you should get paid fairly for that! Again, don't want to be too controversial, that's just how we feel. We've got a big episode full of news this fortnight and of course the writer's strike is the biggest one of all and is affecting most of our news sto...

Podcasting every two weeks means there is PLENTY of news to catch up on! People are review-bombing the new Horizon DLC for the dumbest reason possible, The Guardians of the Galaxy are getting edgy and swearing now (lol) and Ryan talks about watching Renfield! Jake has been playing the new Horizon Forbidden West Burning Shores DLC (which is excellent) and both of your boys watched Apple TV's Tetris...

Jake & Ryan are bros and these bros are now back with a new podcast every other week and MAMMA MIA if that isn't something to be excited about! Why did we say MAMMA MIA?? Well I think you all can guess where this is going. It's time to talk about the Super Mario Bros. movie and man.... that sure does qualify as a movie doesn't it? Plus we've got Star Wars Celebration news to catch up on, a sle...

The boys have a lot of news this week. Is all of it relevant? Who's to say. But man they sure do love some Jersey Shore and that spinoff podcast will surely come to fruition someday. But Jake and Ryan are back to cover the finale of HBO's The Last of Us. Is it a truly satisfying conclusion to this post apocalyptic journey we've been on for two months? Or does it leave us wanting more? (it does, th...

In this extra EXTRA long episode of Almost Accurate Jake and Ryan talk about HBO's latest series that has taken the world by infected storm, The Last of US. A brutal, harrowing experience to watch, The Last of Us shows that there actually ARE some video games that have good stories and this turns out to be a faithful adaptation that adds enough new elements that allow it to stand apart from the so...

Hey Guys! We don't have a new episode this week unfortunately but in light of that and being excited for the new season of The Mandalorian, we decided to have a look back at when we first met Mando all the way back in the fall of 2019 and it is a delight to revisit what we thought of this all when it was new! Also- quite of a bit of Death Stranding talk because that was another new and weird thing...

Mando Mando Mando, you sure are back aren't ya? Oh ya wanna go back home and take a bath? You wanna fight a big ole crab man and take a bath? Looks like that little green dude is back too it seems. Yeah Jake and Ryan have watched the opening episode of The Mandalorian season 3 and it turns out... pretty good so far! The boys are back on Discord and are ready to talk about Mando and the week in new...

Is the new Ant-Man really that bad? The boys discuss. But as always with Almost Accurate you know that's not the only thing that we're talking about. There's news and tons of it! Metroid Prime Remastered physical copies are sold out and people are scalping them for ridiculous prices on eBay, Walter White's eighty-whities are selling for big money, Umbrella Academy season 4 just picked up some dece...

After a four month break the boys are BACK! There's been plenty of changes in their personal lives but Jake and Ryan are back and are catching up on everything that's happened! Not like anything big or important has happened in the world of movies, tv & video games... right? Right? The boys talk about the freshly released Metroid Prime Remastered, God of War Ragnarok, Ghostwire Tokyo, Wakanda...

Ryan is on baby watch so the boys are back on Zoom!  Jake breaks down Andor (which is surprisngly good) and Ryan talks about the Devil in Ohio (which…. well just listen to what he has to say aobut it. It’s not pretty. It’s not good either).  CD Projekt Red has announced SEVERAL new Witcher and Cyberpunk games that they’re working on (that should keep them busy for the next 60-70 years it...

Jake had quite the dytpotian weekend. Home alone and it was time to watch some movies set in a rather depressing futuristic setting. How does Blade Runner stack up as a movie watching experience in 2022? Answer- not super well it turns out! Surely the seuqel Blade Runner 2049 improves upon that well established formula right? Well… it sort of does, but it also sort’ve does certain things much much...

Listen up y'all- some real life shit is going on in the boys life. Ryan is about to have a kid at literally any moment and Jake is getting married in the extremely near future so, our upload schedule is going to be a bit hit and miss for the time being. Does that mean that we're skipping on the quality of our podcast? Well if you have a listen to this episode I think that the answer to that will b...

Fresh from a week off, Jake and Ryan are back and they've been watching some horror movies... mostly the horrors of being Elvis Pressley in Baz Luhrman's universe. We shudder to think what that would actually be like. Ryan has been watching The Perfection, the boys have both watched that horrible looking Winnie the Pooh horror movie trailer and much much more as they catch up on this week's episod...

Sadly no new episode this week folks.... looks like we're going to have to repackage the some old stuff and change a few things slightly and pass it off as an entirely new thing. But no one would ever try and do that. No gigantic company that has a mouse for a mascot would even dare to spend billions of dollars on a beloved franchise, try and change a few characters names and genders and attempt t...

What’s up people!  This week Almost Accurate is back to compare and contract two EXTREMELY different series. Couldn’t guess? Well no worries, it’s She Hulk and Only Murders in the Building!  One is a well-established series that is concuding its second series on Hulu, and another is just barely getting underway on Disney +. Turns out, they couldn’t be more different and Jake and Rya...
