There are many things in life that we are drawn to worry about. However as children of God, He wants us to have a very different mindset to the world. Our life's purpose is God's Kingdom, and He wants us to be preoccupied with the things that matter to Him. If we look after His Kingdom, God's promise is that He will take care of the rest in our lives. [Speaker: Barry]

There is a constant wrestle taking place for our soul. We need to be careful to discern between the voice of the enemy which tries to trick us and create disunity, and the voice of Jesus which is selfless, always loves and brings unity. 

13 November Loving your neighbour The compassion of God must be at the centre of everything we do as a fellowship. We ought to love as brothers and sisters, be tender hearted, courteous, have the same mind and have compassion on one another. As we grow, we grow with the heart of God in all things.

When we feel like we are about to give up, the Bible reminds us that we can come boldly to the throne of grace for help. We should not come timid or cautious but instead be confident, knowing that God is always there to help us out of any situation.

The temptations and trials we go through in life are common to every man and woman, but are experienced in different forms. Jesus understands what we’re experiencing and always makes a way of escape and equips us to live our lives with purpose. [Speaker: Barry]

God's plan and intention for us is not that we live religious lives where we constantly stumble and fall. When our relationship with Jesus is right, we can believe in what He is able to do through us, and begin to see the fruit in our lives.

When Jesus first passed by the disciples, they immediately left their nets to follow Him. In the same way, Jesus calls us to let go of maintaining our nets and the burdens of this world, and follow Him to experience His yolk which is light and easy.

We carry in us the truths of God but are people seeing and hearing them from us? Why do we sometimes hesitate to share God's Word? The enemy wants to veil the gospel. But Jesus said because we have freely received, we are to freely give. People need to hear the message of Jesus Christ that sets people free.

Are we living life trying to measure our goodness with the goodness of other people? No amount of our own goodness is enough before the Lord. We are all in desperate need of God's mercy. And when His mercy touches a person's heart, that's the beginning of an amazing transformation in our lives.

Out of the heart spring the issues of life. God warns us to guard our hearts so that no matter what situation we face in life, our heart and behaviour always reflect the image of Christ.

What are the things that occupy your and your time? Are you 'too busy' for the things of God? God wants us to seek Him and His Kingdom first, and to trust that everything else we need He will add to us. For He is a rewarded of those who diligently seek Him.

If we place ourselves in compromising situations that we shouldn’t be in, we will inevitably give into sin. Jesus resisted all temptation and showed us that what we need above all things is to trust in and abide by the Word of God in order to live well and nourish our souls.

Have you ever asked Jesus what He really thinks about where you’re at today? If you are genuinely ready to hear the answer, you will come to a place where you really know yourself and will be filled with Jesus and His transforming truth. [Speaker: Barry]

It is easy to convince ourselves of our own goodness. Jesus however wants us to be honest with Him about the things we hold onto in our hearts and to surrender them to Him. We should find no comfort in our goodness but rather in the power of His spirit working in our lives. [Speaker: […]

Our intimacy with God is derived from the knowledge that God is with us. By God making more of Himself known to us, we gain a closer intimacy that grants security and strength, knowing well that He knows us and is always with us. [Speaker: Harb]

The sufficiency of Jesus has not changed or weakened over time. Yet the world will try to sell and promise us things about what we ‘need’ that only leave us dissatisfied and unfulfilled. The truth is, the longing in our hearts can only be filled by Jesus. [Speaker: Barry]

Do you conform too easily to the ways of the world? God wants us to be like Christ. He isn’t calling us to just ‘add on’ layers of Christianity but to ‘strip back’ self by dying to ourselves in order to be transformed into the image of Christ. [Speaker: Barry]

As Christians, we ought to have no confidence in the flesh. Whoever says he abides in Him, also ought to walk just as He walked. In Him we live, we move and have our being. [Speaker: Harb]

One of the fruits of the Christian who has the Holy Spirit working in their lives is self control. The greater the self control and ability to discipline your life, the greater the freedom you experience. [Speaker: Barry]

If we can’t humble ourselves to serve and love others, we are still in a state of pride before God. We need to let go of ‘self’ and consider others greater than what we do ourselves, so we can serve freely and experience sweet fellowship with Jesus. [Speaker: Barry]

Are we focusing our attention on building the kingdom through our lives? We need to be a people who pray and seek God’s face and believe that He will provide for us as we move in a direction that God is pleased with. [Speaker: Barry]

As we move into 2022, if we want anything to be different, we are to approach the year with faith. Our call is not to just believe in Christ, but to become like Christ - and we can only do this by faith that pleases God.
