The Story of David series continues to unfold as one of the most epic friendships in history begins in 1 Samuel 18!

I Thessalonians 5:17 - "Pray without ceasing."

With God’s calling comes His enabling.

There are characteristics of God’s faithfulness that enable us to be faithful.

In II Timothy 4:7-8, we are given three reasons why we can move from being a fearful Christian to a faithful Christian.

The words spoken by a person before they die can be very powerful and hold a special meaning. In the book of II Timothy 4, we read some of the final words of the Apostle Paul. He said, “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:”

It was an extra exciting Sunday at Akron FBC! We are thankful for those baptized and the families that formally joined our church today!

II Timothy 4:7 - "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:"

I John 4:10 – "Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.”

Not only is God’s love defined in I John 4, but it’s also displayed. I John 4:9 –“In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.

God's perfect love for you existed in eternity before time began. This almighty God loves you with an almighty love.

Learning how to love is the most crucial lesson Christians can learn during their time on earth. It is one of the primary reasons God created us - to understand His love and show love towards others in the same way.

I John 4:7 – “Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.” The most important thing Christians can learn while on earth is how to love.

Philippians 4:13 – “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” Do you realize the magnitude of God’s greatness in this sentence? These simple words explode into small intakes of truth. There is so much doctrine filled into these ten simple words.  

The only way we will be able to learn to be content in all things – is by trusting in the almighty promises of God. And in verse 13, we find one of the greatest promises of all time – P hilippians 4:13 – “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”
