Alex tells us about life at Craigroyston back then, the clog 'infestation', the moustaches and the camaraderie of the staff room.  His career highlight as eventual Head Teacher of James Gillespies High School (including his initial reception) as well...

On a freezing afternoon in Edinburgh, your intrepid podcasters sought out solace with some real ale and it took 5 attempts to get into a good pub in Edinburgh's New Town.   Our original choice (The Cumberland Bar) didn't open - like other pubs post-covid - until late in the afternoon....so Kays Bar it is. (Great pub, fantastic, consistently high quality beers!) Good sound in this one, so...

We kept the Hearts V Celtic talk to a minimum (for obvious reasons) this month as we visited the Windsor (formerly 'The Windsor Buffet) top end of Leith Walk (Elm Row) for a change. In a timely start to 2023 we visited the Edinburgh City Arts Centre to see No Ruined Stone - a photographic exhibition by Paul Duke (a former Craigroyston High School (Edinburgh) pupil. We then retired for a hefty lunch to Kays Bar - highly recommended, superb beer - and then reluctantly had to head to the Oxford Bar to record this month's podcast.
