I hate to brag, but today for lunch I ate Chick-Fil-A in the parking lot of a Hobby Lobby. If that doesn't scream "Not Today Satan", I don't know what does.

Some good news after last year's cancellation: The State Fair of Texas is back! Gates open September 24th and the fair will run through October 17th.

Maybe you have child or grandchild who's walked away. Walked away from God, walked away from you, maybe both. It's heartbreaking. I know this feeling well. Here's what I have learned: I don't have answers, but I understand that God understands. He hears my cries and my prayers and he hears yours just the same. I believe in God's faithfulness in my children's lives and you can too.

I can say this with confidence. Somewhere along the way, we've all failed. But it doesn't make you failure. We've all made mistakes, sometimes some pretty big ones. But that doesn't make you a mistake.

Sometimes the greatest act of faith looks like us remaining faithful exactly where we are!

If this is happening in your life, today is a great day to ask God to help you break this habit. Nothing good comes from the comparison game, for better or for worse, neither honor God and neither will make you happy!

Could there be anything more wonderful than being called a friend of God? We are, it says so in Psalm 25:14 "The friendship of the Lord is for those who fear him, and he makes known to them his covenant." YOU are known as a friend of God today!

I've been walking though a pretty tough time with a close friend right now who's experienced a loss and I've come to the understanding that I need to trust God with other people. God loves our friends more than we do and will care for them better than we think we can. Let's not forget Jesus is the savior, not us.

Here's the thing about prayer. Sometimes prayer changes our current situation, sometimes it doesn't right away. Our prayer may or may not change other people, but God always uses it to change us. Prayer is always worth our while.

We did our goodbyes on Friday, but it didn't really hit me till yesterday that my friend Lauree has moved on to her next radio chapter. I missing her today and you know what? That's okay.

Just want to let you know today that you're not inconveniencing God when you ask him for forgiveness. You're not a bother, you're not pest, you're not annoying God. You're just asking him what he already desires to do. God is forgiveness and grace. The next time you wonder if you've messed up one too many times to be forgiven by God, just know the grace that God lavishes is in unending supply.

Whatever you have ahead of you right now that might be worrying you, I want you to remember this: God's word is a light to our feet and a lamp to our path. When we spend time in God's word, we come to know him more. We see his light more. A Lamp doesn't provide us with miles worth of light, but it gives you just enough light to know where to step next. Focus on God, trust him to guide your steps.
