For the second half of the hour, Michael Mulligan joins Adam for their weekly segment, Legally-Speaking.

Ross Crockford from Focus on Victoria Magazine joins Adam to talk about an article he wrote titled “Missing Middle: A Cheat Sheet”. The Missing Middle Housing policy public hearing is at 6:30 PM on August 4, 2022, hours after the show. Crockford and Stirling look at the cheat sheet and discuss how certain bylaws could interfere with houses being developed.

On Legally-Speaking with Michael Mulligan, Mulligan and Stirling look at multiple cases, including a sexual assault case that went to the supreme court of Canada, a lawyer attempting to dropping out of a case close to the trial start date, and a decision out of the British Columbia court of appeal for an unjust enrichment.

Angela McLaughlin, study’s lead author PHD candidate in Bioinformatics at UBC joins Adam to talk about a new study showing that the Canadian travel restrictions did reduce COVID-19 cases entering the country. Despite this, the restrictions were not as effective in preventing new outbreaks of the virus.

To kick off the hour, Jon Roe, Research Associate at Angus Reid Institute joins Adam to discuss inflation as it hits a record high, and  how three-quarters of Canadians feel it is a poor time to make a large purchase such as a home or a car. Later Adam takes more calls from listeners with topics ranging from city council, four-year terms, and bike lines.

The App was found to be tracking users locations for over a year unbeknownst to them.
