The Freshman Fifteen are a group that places a big emphasis on group culture - so we talked about the elements of that, from auditioning to onboarding to nicknames. While in the Chicago area, we were happy to invite the University of Illinois-Chicago Downtown Voices into the mobile studio. We talked about them about how the group got started, and what the scene is like for a Chicago collegiate group not from one of the a cappella mega-schools. The Port Clinton Touch of Class has distinguished itself on ICHSA competition stages, in performances all over the place, and soon, taking the stage at NACC. We sat down with the group to break it all down, talk about their rehearsal strategies, and hear them sing. Recorded in 2016.

In 2016, we caught up with the Slate Vocal Band, an all-guys group from Cheyenne Mountain HS in Colorado, to hear them sing some songs and tell their story. We talked about what they get from Slate that's different from other groups, and about their plans for the future.

While at the Kettering A Cappella Festival in late 2015, we brought the North Union High School NU Age into the mobile studio to hear about their journey as a group so far. When we were able to sit down in the mobile studio with Michigan State University's Ladies First in 2015, we talked with them about the group's origins and where they are today, both musically and in terms of their vibe. 2Knight 2Knight has a lot going on, as they work to increase their visibility in their community. Mere hours before the national Harmony Sweepstakes finals, we caught up with finalists Timepiece to talk about their backstory, why they compete, and what kind of music they enjoy singing together. At the national Harmony Sweepstakes finals in 2015, we sat down with finalists Remedy, from the University of Dayton. Many of the members were there at the founding of the group, so we talked about the challenges and triumphs of a new ensemble. Based on their Sweeps success and upcoming interest in the ICCA, we also talked about the role of competition - and heard some of their current tunes.

Based in New York City, Westside 5 is a vocal jazz group that has been through some major evolution since getting started - but whatever they're doing, it seems to work! They won the Mid-Atlantic Harmony Sweepstakes Regionals and hours before taking the Finals stage, they joined us to talk about it all, and sing some tunes. Recorded in 2015.

We were happy to bring Stiletta into the mobile studio to talk about their formation, their killer beatboxer and the importance of beat and percussion to their sound, and their interest in original music. They also sing some of their award-winning set for us! Recorded in 2015.
