Above the Break

In episode 7 of Above the Break, Nevin and James talk about the Jazz's use of Rudy Gobert, Frank Vogel being on the hot seat, the Myles Turner injury news, the Grizzlies secret to offensive (rebounding) success, and a Rockets roundup centered on the boy in the corner-- Jalen Green. 

In episode 6 of Above the Break, Nevin and James talk about the failed Bol Bol's physical, Paul George's lost season, and Steph Curry's not so mini-slump. Then they get into their Rockets round-up and three NBA trade deadline questions. What does Damian Lillard's surgery mean for the Blazers and NBA?, NBA dream deadline trades, and the Hawks Cam Reddish trade. 

In Above the Break episode 5 1/2, it's just Nevin. Without a co-host Nevin was lost, so he kept it short. Nevin gives his opinion on the Kyrie Irving and Klay Thompson returns and then goes into the best international players of all time.

The pair discuss the impact of Kyrie Irving coming back on a part-time basis for the Nets, and Anthony Davis' MCL injury on the Lakers' chances of competing for one more title while LeBron is still in his prime. 

In Above the Break episode 4 Part II, Nevin and James talk about how FiveThirtyEight's Raptor WAR actually backs up the hooper mentality/eye test, then they ask how will the trade market shake out? and are the Lakers a Talen Horton-Tucker trade away from real contention?

In Above the Break episode 4 part I, Nevin and James go over the latest NBA news; Steph Curry, the new 3-PT King, the NBA's COVID concerns, and Zion's foot. Nevin then gives breaks down how Russell Westbrook's career has descended into a triple-double addiction. In part two of From Downtown episode 24, Nevin and James try to determine if the Bulls can pull ahead the Nets, Bucks, or Heat in the Eastern Conference pecking order and talk about if PJ Tucker's Miami revival is for real. The two then argue if the Rockets could have paired Evan Mobley and Alperen Sengun, before closing the episode with their comments on the Luke Walton era in Sacramento.

In From Downtown Episode 21 Part 2, Nevin and James go over their awards picks; MVP, Rookie of the Year, Sixth-Man of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, Comeback Player of the Year, Coach of the Year, and All-Star Game MVP. They finish the episode by picking their top four teams in each conference and then pick their Finals match-up.
