A View From the Couch

Can’t a podcaster catch a break? The last 24 hours have seen major developments in Major League Baseball, including the last minute expansion of this year’s playoffs. Here is my best attempt to predict the unpredictable.

When something you love hurts you or let’s you down, you have to get those feelings out. Before a new season can begin, we need to clear the air. Or, as the great Frank Costanza would say, “I got a lot of problems with you people, now you’re going to hear about them.”

Two MVP candidates. A gold glove winning center fielder. A young, energetic second baseman. A guy playing on a one year deal with the hope of cashing in after betting on himself. Two guys with HUGE chips on their shoulders wanting to prove their worth. A catcher who can’t catch. The good, the better, and the Tyler Flowers. It’s time to talk about the every day lineup!

From disgusting boil on the butt of an ugly cow, to the princess of the ball, the Braves’ bullpen has been transformed in the last year. How does this year’s pen factor into the overall plan for the team, and who will end up being the closer by the time the pennate race is winding down in September. I shoot my shot on answering those questions and take a lot of shots at Luke Jackson!
