A Sure Hope

We don’t have the luxury of biding our time as followers of Jesus; we have a job to do. Jesus commissioned His disciples to go to the ends of the earth. That was a monumental task at that time. As a child, if something didn’t go my way, I thought the world was ending. It could be from not getting the toy I desired to not getting the food I wanted. What I didn’t know was that my parents had a plan. Today, Pastor Dave says you can be so caught up in the present that you neglect everything God’s doing around you.

This world seems completely hopeless. There’s war everywhere, and people seem to be in constant tension over seemingly meaningless things. In today’s message, Pastor Dave says God’s our only hope. He alone saves ! He wants you to trust Him to restore a broken world through His Son. He always has a plan!

When things around us go well, it can be easy to say, “Look at what I’ve done!” Today, Pastor Dave says we constantly lose sight of what God’s done in our lives. You have success because God guided you there! He loves you and wants you to be successful, but He wants all the credit because He deserves it!

Who do kids go to when they feel scared at night? Their parents! But why? Because they think their parents are in complete control and trust them. Today, Pastor Dave says when everything around you seems to be in shambles, God says to you, “Do not be afraid.” You must trust Him , because He's in control!

My parents have always tried to lead me in the right direction, but because I’m a sinner, I always wanted to go against their words. Today, Pastor Dave says if you hear correction from the Lord, your choice is to either listen or obey Him! When you feel convicted, you must examine your heart and ensure you’re fully following God.

When I was young, I constantly disobeyed my parents, but if they really wanted my attention, they would yell my full name, and I would respond instantly. Today, Pastor Dave says when God calls for our attention, we need to listen. If you hear the voice of God, don’t listen the second or third time, but the first time.

When I was younger, I knew that if my parents said my full name, I had to be right in front of them within the next couple of minutes, otherwise I would be in trouble. Today, Pastor Dave says we must respond quickly when God calls us to do anything. His plans for your life are trustworthy! Depend on Him today!

The procedure of child labor is a painful and strenuous process. So why do people do it? Because the reward of having a child is far greater than the pain that’s caused in the moment! Today, Pastor Dave says rewards in Heaven are far better than anything you can imagine. You must remind yourself of them amidst your suffering.
