We’ve declared that Spooky Season is upon us! Let’s kick off the best season by talking about all our favorite supernatural creatures and beings! We cover the classics, i.e. vampires, fae, shifters, etc. It wouldn’t be a true Thirsty Thursday episode if Mads and I didn’t fangirl over some lesser known supernaturals too. Hehehehehe

Her annoying chatter gives Cassian time to break through the Crown’s hold. Do we like his new plan though? No, no we don’t. Briallyn runs into a classic The Hobbit situation with the sun and Nesta’s own powers. What an idiot.

Emerie and Gwyn have made it to the top, which is great. Yay. We are very happy for them, truly. HOWEVER, Nesta has not made it to the top yet. In fact, she is stuck fighting a male drunk on his own hatred. It is not a pretty scene. Nesta’s last week has been brutal and they call this part of Ramiel the Breaking for a reason. Hi! It’s been a hot minute and we’ve missed you! Now prepare for a good ole classic Shoot the $hit with Mads and I. We chat about some of the latest news and events in the book community. Plus Mads got a VERY special delivery while we were recording. There is no way you can even guess what it was. I promise. It’s been an absolutely wild couple of weeks for us so strap in for a chaotic rundown!

Cassian and Azriel’s missteps have lead them into a bit of a pickle with a Death God and a Crone. The big issue is there a Made dagger up for grabs too. Uh oh. Meanwhile, Nesta is holding the line against Bellius and his little gang of jerks. All of her mind stilling really comes in handy for the fight. 

Mads and I are back at it again with lots of theories…on every SJM character’s favorite “hobby” in the bedroom. We’re debating how into they would be and what particular “hobbies” would take up their nights (or days if they like some afternoon delight). Our lovely patrons gave us a couple bonus characters to evaluate. They got a bit creative.

The Valkyries are battling everyone and everything at the moment: the Breaking on Ramiel, bloodthirsty Illyrians, Gwyn’s own injury and the brutal cold. All around would bet that Ramiel gets like a 1.1 outta 10 on Pythian Trip Advisor at best. Meanwhile, Cassian and Az fumble their mission HARD. We can all agree that we saw that mishap coming in one way or another though, right?

The time has finally come. The cover for House of Flame and Shadow has been released and the (obnoxious) number of editions have been announced! Now sit back and relax (or spiral with us) on what every little detail could mean. As you may have guessed, I’ve been obsessing over this since Wednesday and probably will continue to do so until January 30th.

During the journey, Emerie shares an Illyrian tale about a battle against “ancient beings” (hmmmmmmm sounds familiar) and one warrior's brave sacrifice to save his people. Gwyn spots a convenient bridge across the ravine…and so do multiple groups of males. The three friends make it across and to the foot...

So after my breakdown of Gwyn’s suspicious behavior and Maddie’s unsettling questions about the “big bad” in the SJM universe, we’ve been bombarded with requests for a theories episode. As always, your wish is our command! Get ready for some rapid fire, (somewhat) unhinged theories! Beware! There are spoilers for the entire SJM universe in this episode.

Now keep in mind, truly no one is in a great place at the beginning of this book. Celaena is drunk on a roof. Chaol is having some disturbing dreams. Dorian is struggling to understand his power. Just a lot of angst currently.

Nesta is a woman on a mission and we feel exceedingly sorry (not really) for any male who gets in her way. That is until we meet Philip. No, Nick! No, wait…Balthazar.
