Business EN ↓ 256 episodes

A Beer with Atlas is a weekly podcast that highlights beers and breweries across the country. Over the years, we've discovered that our traveling nurses love visiting breweries during their down time. Ironically, we like to visit breweries during our down time. Each week we will feature one brewery suggested by our nurses. We'll try their beer, talk about the brewery, talk about the styles of beer, and have a lot of fun. Cheers!

WELCOME TO THE WEDNESDAY NIGHT SLAM! We took our Beer Crew and threw them into the ring with nothing but a pile of empty IPA bottles, a steel chair, a 2x4, and a bag that may or may not have a snake in it. Who will win!? The big winner here is this Steve Austin Broken Skull IPA from El Segundo Brewing Co. in California. Inspired by wrestling and this beer's eponymous namesake, we chat all things w...

Who's the best Lil' Buddy? This week, we dive into the "lil buddy" micro-brew micro-can from Hopewell Brewing Co. out of Chicago. While this littlest of buddies and beverage sidekicks only comes in a snackable 8-oz can, it's full of the peppy can-do attitude of yesteryear. In fact, all of Hopewell's can art designs designs lean toward vintage 50's and 60's art styles, reminiscent of white-walled t...

2021 is just beginning, but we can finally see the back of our office beer fridge as we clear it out to pour one out (or 12) for 2020. Putting the previous year behind us is easier from a comfortable platform and with a good cigar, which is why we have two brews from Platform Beer Co. out of Cleveland, a "Froot Hoops" and a "Caramelicious"; then we finish it off with an "Oatmeal Raisin Cookie" fro...

Drown Out 2020 - Ep 3 - Beer With Atlas 125 - the original travel nurse craft beer podcast 12.01.2021

Drown Out 2020 - Beer With Atlas 123 - the original travel nurse craft beer podcast 31.12.2020

This week we highlight a Skyway Saison from New Jersey Beer Co., the Famous Golfer, a brew by Cosmic Eye Brewing from Lincoln, Nebraska, and then we round it out with a Fest Bier by 4 Hands Brewing out of St. Louis. 2020 has had its ups and downs (and then more downs), but nothing beats...

Peppermint Porter, Lexington Brewing - Beer With Atlas 122 - the travel nurse craft beer podcast 23.12.2020

This Peppermint Porter from Lexington Brewing and Distilling Co. is designed for relaxing by an open fire. While the name may at first seem like the Bizarro version of Tony Stark's gal Friday Pepper Potts, we can assure you this bourbon barrel-aged brew is one Stark would've enjoyed during the holidays (before Iron-Man #120). This holiday season, we encourage you to have a digital beer with your f...

Christmas Ale Mini Keg from Breckenridge Brewery - Beer with Atlas 121 - travel nurse beer podcast 16.12.2020

This annual brew release is sure to please the biggest craft beer stickler on your list this season...

Join us as we frack into this craft beer original and...

"Theory Of Chaos" By Chaos Mountain Brewing - Beer With Atlas 117 18.11.2020

We've climbed a mountain or two of beer challenges in our day, but we've never tackled a craft beer like this "Theory of Chaos" brew from Chaos Mountain Brewing. Dropping in at a hefty 18% alcohol content, this beer is the strongest we've ever featured on the podcast. This hardcore brew may not leave us quaking At The Mountain of Madness (anyone?), but a few of these may lead you to believe you ca...

Pumpkin Beer from O'Fallon Brewery - Beer with Atlas 115 - the travel nurse craft beer podcast 04.11.2020

While some think of Pumpkin Spice when the fall arrives, our Beer Team Six (there's only three of them) thinks of Oktoberfest. But, through the magic of mixology, inventive brewers, and ideas that seem great at 2 a.m., someone has made a pumpkin beer that combines elements of your favorite seasonal latte and a hard craft beer. (Can we get one with caffeine?) Does it work? Strap on your Ugg Boots,...

The Tangalorian Tangerine Sour, Frothy Beard - Beer With Atlas 114 - travel nurse craft beer podcast 28.10.2020

You may think creating a great craft beer that is a sour, infused with tangerines, "Star Wars"-themed, *and* crammed into a tall boy is impossible. It's not impossible. We used to knock back 20 oz. cans in our F150 back home, they're not much bigger than a tall boy. Join us as we dive deep into two of our favorite things: Star Wars and enjoying a good craft beer with friends. This Tangalorian Tang...

Mayhem Marzen - Oktoberfest 2 - Beer With Atlas 111 - Travel Nurse Craft Beer Reviews 08.10.2020

Capture a taste of the fall with this Mayhem Marzen craft beer from Springfield Brewing Company. Only available in the fall during prime Oktoberfest tastings, this malty lager carries "aromas reminiscent of toasted bread, baked crackers and caramel", their brewmaster claims. We're not sure about all that, but it was a fine drink with friends we wouldn't hesitate to enjoy again — or to recommend. G...

If you're a nurse or healthcare professional working through the fall, we'd love to hear about your favorite Oktoberf...

Cinnamon Roast Crunch, Naughty Sauce series from Noble Ale Works - Beer With Atlas 109 23.09.2020

Cinnamon Roast Crunch has a name so contrary to what you imagine a beer should be, that even our auto-correct is trying to change it to "Toast". The latest craft beer in the "Naughty Sauce" series from Noble Ale Works might seem a strange brew, but it evokes memories of breakfast cereal and Saturday Morning Cartoons. We don't know that this beer and a bowl of cereal is the perfect hangover cure (b...

Did you know that Kros Strain's Fairy Nectar was featured on the very first episode of "A Beer With Atlas"? C...
