Some of the actions of the forefathers that went unopposed are now being declared as worthy of curses by Moses. Inconsistencies that seem to me to be almost certainly NOT from God.

Christians should contrast these rules about divorce with what Jesus tells us about acceptable grounds for divorce. Here it’s more patriarchy but Jesus balances the scales.

Once the “promised land” is occupied and colonized the tithes are to be offered and the ritual declaration of the land being given to the people by God is to be proclaimed.

Deuteronomy Chapter24 JUST declared children aren’t to be put to death for their parents sins, yet this chapter demands genocide for the descendants of a previous generation’s offenses; as inconsistent as ever.

Jesus draws a distinction between how people caught in adultery should be punished and it’s a stark contrast to what’s required in the Old Testament.
