60 Cycle Hum: The Guitar Podcast!

In a special bonus episode of 60 Cycle Hum, Ryan and Steve sit down with Tino from The Changing Stage radio program and talk about their memories of Guitar Trader, a long time San Diego guitar shop. They look at the past and present of the store and talk about the possibilities of the future to emphasize the importance of the continued existence of high quality local music stores.

In Episode 48 of 60 Cycle Hum Ryan and Steve discuss such topics as the Digitech Whammy and Joyo pedals. Then they hit a Craigslist ad for a weird Lyon V-shaped guiat and a Roy Buchanan tribute guitar. Finally they take a topic on themed guitars such as those made by StewMade guitars.

In Episode 47 of 60 Cycle Hum the guys talk about a super hot Telecaster and a crazy looking Dean electric guitar. Then they hit up an article from a certain major public radio outlet about virtuoso musicians and whether or not musicians can be too good. You might be surprised at their response, but you probably won't.

In Episode 46 of 60 Cycle Hum Ryan and Steve talk about a major Craigslist flip project Steve is taking on. Then the guys talk about the MXR Carbon copy, a "Freebird" acoustic guitar, and the magic of Dumble. For this week's topic Ryan and Steve tackle the musical genre that is ska, including discussion of bands, techniques, and general life nostalgia.

In Episode 44 of 60 Cycle Hum Ryan and Steve talk about some sweet buying and selling they've been doing on the gear market. Then they check out someone's tribute to Abraham Lincoln as well as a completely trashed Squier neck. Finally they bringing it home by discussion the acronym OBO and what "Or Best Offer" tells potential buyers about the seller.

In Episode 41 of 60 Cycle Hum Ryan and Steve continue their chat with Daniel Tyack of Salvage Custom Shop. They run through some ads, including a Danelectro display board before fielding a listener question regarding Salvage Custom as a business and things to remember when emailing a small business owner, particularly in the boutique instrument and equipment world.
