When it comes to anime adaptations, Hollywood really hasn't been on good terms. As we've covered before your mileage varies but more often than not they end up being bad. In comes Death Note which ends up being a competent movie thats hampered by the fact that its a shell of the anime/manga its based off of.

American Assassin is the typical action movie which is different from the vibe the trailers gave off. Michael Keaton and Dylan O'Brien do a pretty good job with there respective characters though O'Brien does tend to get one-dimensional at times. Sanaa Lathan is serviceable in her role. Same with Taylor Kitsch. The movie gets a bit tropey at times and you basically end up seeing where the movie is...

In this podcast we hit all the points, Smart ass Sharks, LL's plot armor, One liners, missed opportunities and why you can't rap about everything!

Defenders has arrived culminating from 4 Netflix shows and giving us 4 characters that come together to save New York on a smaller scale. The show succeeds mainly because the 8 episodes keeps the pacing going quick and easy and it also ends up making Danny Rand/Iron Fist much better than his solo outing. So sit back and enjoy this giant size episode.

A movie where you only care about Ernie Hudson and Amy the Gorilla. We talk about Tim Curry's fucked up accent, Speak-N-Spells, Harambe, Hotep Gorillas, Ernie Hundson being a beast and White People fucking with Nature.

We got a chance to talk to a few great people at Otakon. We spoke to voice actors Sandy Fox, Tony Oliver, Vic Mignogna, Michael Sinternaklass and Michelle Ruff; Cosplayer Stella Chuu and Author Roland Kelts.

We're off of filler and now on to canon that is Sailor Moon R. We talk about Mamoru's ugly ass jacket, the Ayakashi sisters, Sailor Pluto being bored, the monsters of the day, Wiseman being Steve Bannon and us breaking down other parts of the saga the only way we know how. On this edition of Wrestlecorner we go over the 3 big wrestling events of the summer. NJPW- G1 Climax 27, NXT Takerover Brooklyn III and Summerslam.

We take our third tour of Yoshiaki Kawajiri here on 3Blackgeeks, this time with a classic among otaku. For what reasons its a classic is...because it was shown on Showtime and Sci Fi in 90's that's why. We talk about "The Glow", monsters, Kawajiri repeating designs, plot armor, a racist af voice over and a one hit kill!

Well this film turned out to be entertaining. There was so much that this movie could've did to shoot itself in the foot with the premise. The movie ultimately ends up working as an action comedy. Ryan Reynolds and Sam Jackson work well together, Salma Hayek is the real MVP of the movie, and Gary Oldman acts his ass off as the main bad guy. CJ and PrimeGundam talk about all the comic book and movie news coming out of SDCC 2017 and get into the happenings in the comic world of DC and Marvel.

Deadzone, Bojack Unbound and Broly the Second Coming...all three represent stages in the evolution of Gohan on Dragonball Z. We talk about Piccolo ready to run them hands, Bojack sucking, Goku breaking the rules of heaven and of Dragonball Z, Namakian cultural appropriation and of course Gohan. 

We visit a mind fuck of an anime, Satoshi Kon's classic Perfect Blue. We talk about Pop Stars, the Disney image, Japanese life and other stuff. We're savage as usual but you expect that. 

Long story short, Idris Elba and Matthew McConaughey give great performances but the story was lacking. They set up this interesting world but don't even fully explore it. Instead they tease it and leave you wanting to see and know more. If you're a Stephen King fan you'll be disappointed. 3BG rating: 2 out of 5

Coming off of Operation Overdrive, Disney was coming to a crossroads with the franchise. They had just bought Marvel and the writers strike was on the horizon. So in comes Jungle Fury which despite the outside issues managed to become a very underrated season. Much like Mystic Force, it manages to tell a very condensed story and get straight to the point. With Season 3 of Young Justice underway, Executive Producers Greg Weisman and Brandon Vietti and Character designer Phil Bourassa sat down and gave some indepth tidbits about the upcoming season and the process in delivering storylines for this show. Lots of good information to listen to.

Dee and CJ are back to recap the Money in the Bank PPV and the Great Balls of Fire PPV. They also go over the El Patron/Paige saga(lol), Global Force Wrestling Takeover, preview the G1 Climax, GFW Slammiversary, and G1 United States special. Lots to unpack but sit back and give it a listen . *Sidenote: The audio gets a bit choppy early in this episode but it clears up*

With the success of Arrow, it was only a matter of time for CW to try and do another show with a new hero. In comes The Flash which basically ended up being a huge hit. Right off the bat the show went all in and embraced the comic book nature of the character and all the lore. Very fun show and the guys talk about these 3 seasons.
