The Paceline Cycling Podcast
The Paceline is a cycling podcast aimed at roadies, mountain bikers, commuters, cyclocross enthusiasts, those who grind gravel—indeed anyone who claims cycling for their own. The bicycle is more than a thing, it’s an issue. The Paceline also discusses the bike’s place in society. The hosts love bike gear so expect some banter about what works and what does not on the road and trail. The podcast on two wheels. No training wheels needed. The Paceline is hosted Patrick Brady and John Lewis, and is a production by The Cycling Independent.

Paceline Tandem 03: Jake Pantone, Director of Marketing and Product at ENVE Composites Jake Pantone is a cycling success story. In this episode of the Paceline Tandem, Jake and Fatty talk about how ENVE chooses — and rej...

#93: Stinner Frameworks, being sick, Sagan's elbows are okay 07.12.2017
Cold and flu season. That's what we call it, right? As if it were restricted to a few months of the year like maple sugaring or Nordic skiing. No matter how long it's meant to last, it's here once again and while Hottie's rides are getting longer, Patrick is off the bike thanks to a virus. Life with four-year-old contagion dispensers, amiright? For this week's VIQ, we asked, has your behavior over...
#92: The off season, Peter Sagan, Niner files bankruptcy 30.11.2017
Now that it's the off season the boys are dreaming of bike purchases. Fatty wants a full-suspension cross-country bike for when he does Breck Epic next year. Hottie finally purchased a gravel-oriented frameset and even Patrick admits that he's considering trimming one from his arsenal to add something else. For the Very Important Question® this week, Fatty asked, "How many times have you broken a helmet?" A: Never 45% B: 1-2 4...
#89: Halloweed, Sonoma fires update, interview with Jeremiah Kahmoson, ED of the B-Rad Foundation 02.11.2017
We discuss Halloween and costumes, and how cycling clothing is a costume of its own. Friends of Fatty's (FoF) used some bike tubes to make a killer Thor costume. Fatty dressed up as Superman (or something like him) and they want for a ride called Helloween. His friend who dressed up as a baby had an interesting experience wearing an adult diaper. For our Very Important Question we asked, When was...
Tandem #02: Decker 02.11.2017
In the Paceline Tandem episode #2, Fatty has two great conversations with people who are doing amazing things with bikes. First, he talks with Decker -- a high school senior who loves mountain biking, and is one of the nicest, most positive kids you'll ever meet. Decker tells the story of an accident that changed how he rides, and how he's taken on -- both physically and mentally -- this challe...

Patrick says this has made the city wholly more livable and infinitely more worth visiting. Watch for his feature in Bicycling next year. Fatty has invented a new segment we...
#82: The Punisher, a colonoscopy, Floyd's of Leadville 31.08.2017
Fatty had a meeting with a doctor that gave him an unusual frame of mind for this show. The colonoscopy made him hungry and maybe a little freer with his opinions. Some of those opinions regard his feelings about his performance at a new event called The Punisher. Apparently the final climb of the event was so tough that a majority of the fondo riders didn't even finish. According to Fatty, he fin...

The question before us today is how you deal with it. We've got a couple of stories of bik...

And now they are eating. We talk about those final preparations, Jonathan Vaughters' (name drop!) final training instructions. Seemingly the entire Fatty clan is either racing or providing support. The Br...
Tandem #01: Dream Chaser 04.08.2017
The idea behind the bonus Paceline “Tandem” podcast episodes is pretty simple: longform one-on-one conversations with people who love bikes. Fatty chats with Adam one week before Adam leaves for the ra...

#77: Crashing, road diets, Dirt Rag celebrates 200 issues, ADHD 29.07.2017
Fatty crashed and got a big raspberry on his hip. Went down on a wet descent right by a spot cyclists call Hamilton Falls because Tyler Hamilton fell there during the Tour of Utah. The staff here thinks they want to avoid that road at all cost. In the fall, because bad thing always have to happen when you fall on a road ride, Fatty ruined his best bibs. The upside? Because they were Rapha, they ar...

#75: Crusher in the Tushar, children's book author Scott Fitzgerald 13.07.2017
Fatty and Hottie went to Beaver, Utah, to partake in the wonderfulness known as the Crusher in the Tushar. Good suffering was had by all. Imagine an event that goes uphill more than downhill. Or don't. It doesn't sound easy, or fun. Fatty and Hottie interview organizer Burke Swindlehurst about the challenge, the attraction and the fun of the event. Last year, former bike shop owners Scott and Jani...
