Today's reading covers Joshua 23 and Proverbs 13:17–20 . The reflection follows Joshua's farewell address to Israel's leaders as he nears the end of his life, echoing Moses's own closing words and centering on one core truth: God has been faithful, and "not one word has failed of all the good things the Lord your God promised." The discussion turns to the danger of sp...

Today's reading covers Joshua 22 and Proverbs 13:13–16 . The reflection follows the Reubenites, Gadites, and half-tribe of Manasseh as they return home east of the Jordan and build an "imposing" altar, sparking near civil war until it's revealed to be a witness memorial rather than an act of rebellion — with echoes back to the sins of Peor and Achan raised as warnings.  In Prov...

Today's reading covers Joshua 12 and Proverbs 12:1–4 . Today's reading covers Joshua 9 and Proverbs 11:21–24 . The reflection traces the Gibeonites' elaborate deception of Joshua and Israel's leaders — and the key failure at the heart of the chapter: provisions were taken, but no counsel was sought from the Lord. That misstep is set against Proverbs 3:5–6 and the ongoing pattern of victory followed by folly seen throughout the conquest...
