Satan's second ally, as revealed in Revelation 13, is the beast from the earth, and we want to focus our attention on this second beast this morning.

We must never allow our uncle in Washington to replace our Father in heaven.

In the twelfth chapter of Revelation we’re given a behind-the-scenes look at what was going on in the spiritual realms at the time. And there we find visions of a dragon’s failed attack on baby Jesus, and his subsequent attack on the church.

I know you’ve seen the effects of sin in nature, in lives, and in society. You’ve heard from God’s word, and the church, the eternal consequences of sin, and the offer of forgiveness. How have you responded to the trumpets of God?

The key to understanding the trumpets we’re about hear won’t be given until the end of chapter nine... so we’re going to have to cover both chapters eight and nine this morning if we’re to make sense of the trumpets of warning.

And then, after given a horrifying picture of the end of the world, when men from kings to slaves will cry out for the mountains and rocks to fall on them in the hopes that they might escape the wrath of the Lamb, we were left with a question: “Who is able to stand?”

History, and life itself, make it very clear that Christians are not exempt from hardships. In fact, Christians often have to face additional hardships because they are Christians.

Unsettled times lead to much anxious speculation about the future.

The picture of a glorious, all-powerful God on His throne can be the most comforting picture imaginable... or it can be the most frightening.

On Easter Sunday morning the Apostle John outran Peter to the tomb.... some sixty years later the Risen Lord appeared again to John.

Surely if God intended the Revelation to be understood He would have given us the basics we need to understand it... and this He has done...

John's third letter is addressed to the beloved Gaius, and in it we will be challenged to prosper in the truth, support the truth, submit to the truth, and witness to the truth.

We must be committed to the truth.

John wraps up his letter in the last four verses with three more assurances, actually certainties, and a final warning.

If you died today, would you go to heaven?

Paul's made it absolutely clear that if we’ve received the gospel and are holding fast to it, we’re saved. Saved from the consequences of our sin. Do you believe that?

After all, Nikes make you a winner, or at least they make you look like one. And as a result they have become the most recognizable shoe in the world and a household name.

God is love and the ultimate expression of God’s love was made 2,000 years ago when He sent His only begotten Son. That fact has changed our lives. However by itself that fact doesn’t change many lives.
