First Issue Club Comic Books

On todays special bonus episode: In the spirit of Thanksgiving, the First Issue Club hosts guests, as their Fountain City Frequency sister podcast 'What's In A Game' stops by to discuss a new comic from the massive video game franchise Tomb Raider.

This week: an online model vampire decides to take a bite out of the evil oil companies that killed her shark friend...yeah. Then, Jerusalem gets wiped off the map, but no-one seems to know why, and Loki steals Doctor Strange's job after he retires to become Dr. Dolittle.

This week:  Coyote takes an unflinching but fictional look at murders in a Mexican border town. Plus, what if Earth was on the border between alien words? Then Kong crosses the border into the Planet of the Apes universe. Did we mention this episode was about borders?

This week: an old cartoon about the future gets a modern day update. Plus Grave Diggers Union explores a bureaucracy of death and makes us want to get tattoos. Finally, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles team up with the Ghostbusters in a ridiculous alternate universe.

That's right folks, we recorded a special Halloween episode to fill your earholes with all the creepy crawly new horror comics. Jughead: The Hunger brings a heaping pile of gore to Riverdale and Goosebumps takes us back to those good ol' childhood haunts.

This week: one of the oldest children's cartoons makes a comeback in the form of a raunchy comic book. Plus, it's another blast from the past with a new Ghostbusters issue and Eternity leaves us completely speechless.

This week: We dive into sexual psychology with Kid Lobotomy, all magical realms come together in Maestros, and Deadpool gets in a fight with Old Man Logan over $25. Plus, Greg knows way too much about the Rugrats franchise.

This week: whether you like it or not, politics is coming to comic books with Falcon and The Family Trade. Then, God Complex confuses but intrigues us with gods and action figures.

This week: it's the good, the bad, and the ugly with Slots, Shadowman/Rae Sremmurd, and Eugenic. Which comic corresponds to which adjective you ask...you'll just have to listen to find out.

This week: the convolution of reboots and multiverses with Marvel Legacy, Batman: The Murder Machine, and Infinite Loop: Nothing But The Truth. How to get into a new series when you already need to have read the ones that came before it.

This week, the club delves into the first issues of Dark Ark, Angelic and Gasolina. Plus, an impossible questions: who is your favorite X-men.

In this inaugural episode, the club sits down to discuss 3 of the past weeks most anticipated first issue releases. This week the club covers some exciting Image releases in Realm #1 and Retcon #1. We also dive into Marvel's new release of Runaways #1 on the heels of their big Hulu TV series release.
