Carnival of Randomness

Hello Randomers and Randomites. Fulfilling our promise from last week, Opie is back and we start off a brand new show talking many things booze. In this premier episode, we start off talking about the state of beer, both macro and microbrews, in this time of quarantine, then we get distracted as we tend to do, but we eventually bring everything back to not just booze but beer in general. There's g...

Hello, Randomers and Randomites. Opie's back everyone, and our talk has moved a bit beyond simply quarantine TV. We talk guilty pleasure movies, good movies vs. entertaining movies and talk about some of the strange YouTube rabbit holes both of us have been pulled down in the past. Comment below and tell us what you think. And don't be afraid of the recommended for you videos. Carnival of Randomne...

Hello Randomers and Randomites. Today, I'm joined by Cousin Opie, the man of myth and legend I've mentioned in the past. For the past three months, we've all been under quarantine, which means lots of TV and movies have been watched. So I reached out to Opie so we could start talking about what we've been watching. This week, we start talking about what we've been watching and come across due to e...

Hello Randomers and Randomites. Last month, Rye reached out to me because she had something on her mind that she wanted to talk about. So we set up a show and talked a bit about social media in all its forms; good, bad and ugly. We go back a ways with it, back to the original viral videos and even the time before the internet when we had verbal viral videos, aka urban legends. Carnival of Randomne...

Hello Randomers and Randomites. Well the NFL hasn't come knocking down our doors, so we must've gotten away with last weeks episode about the AFC "Future Dynasties". So Rye and I figured... let's get right on to the NFC! We pick up where we left off, going down the list and giving our thoughts about the state of the NFC for the upcoming 2020 season, and with more sports beginning to announce plans...

Hello Randomers and Randomites. It's June now, the time when a persons mind turns to the upcoming football season. At least a few minds I guess. But with everything being up in the air still, no one's 100% sure of what the upcoming 2020 NFL season might bring. Be that as it may, that's not stopping us from doing some speculation! Rye joins me once again and we look over the current NFL and discuss...

Hello Randomers and Randomites. On June 4, 1944, U.S. Naval Task Group 22.3 made sonar contact with German submarine U-505 off the coast of western Africa. After the group opened fire on the submarine, it was damaged and surfaced. The sub, its crew, documents and an Enigma Machine were captured by the Allied Forces and the sub was taken to Bermuda and now resides in the Museum of Science and Indus...

Hello Randomers and Randomites.   With yet another week of quarantine and isolation in the books, my brain has begun to take some pretty weird turns. And it got me to thinking about things you you may have never thought about, or noticed but never really considered deeply. So I put some of those thoughts out into the ether for people to listen to and think about. Enjoy this strange little glimpse...

Hello Randomers and Randomites. Lately it's been a lot of my opinions on things, and I've often wondered just what the public opinion is. Well as luck would have it, I was contacted by a member of the public. Today we're joined by Stanley F. Public, brother of John Q. Public, to voice his opinions on the world today and what's going on. When given an open forum, he definitely grabbed the ball and...

Hello Randomers and Randomites. This week, let's take a walk down literary memory lane shall we? I got to thinking about the old tall tales that I read and heard about when I was a kid and I thought, hell take everyone on the journey with you to think about some of America's most notable folklore. Hopefully it brings back some good memories and lights the fire of reading in our audience. Carnival...

Hello Randomers and Randomites. Today we finally join the world of modern day podcasters with the premier recording of someone calling in through the power of the interweb. And we have a brand new guest. Joining us today is my dear friend Rye, a fellow horror movie fan and lover of all things weird and odd. And we get right into some of our favorite horror movie franchises and talk many things......

So this is just a short episode letting you know our plans and just venting to get a little b...

Hello Randomers and Randomites. Gentle listeners... it's never safe to go back to the internet. We have the return of Bauman and Dave for yet another long awaited episode of Rage-Onomics. This time, we get a bit techincal. We delve into social media, technology, the modern world and even address an elephant in the room in regards to goings on here in Rochester. The rage rolls on, and we're so bitt...

Salutations, Randomers and Randomites. We've made mention of those kinds of bands that we simply don't have the capability to classify if you remember our past ramblings. Well today we're joined by a member of one of those bands. Direct from Rochester, NY we have Sean McVay, vocalist and guitarist for King Buffalo. We're talking some interesting music and a trio that has traveled all over the worl...

Zdravstvuyte Randomers and Randomites. Live from some old opera house, we're joined by Patrick and Greg to talk more shit. This time, we talk about some movie tropes. You know those things. The themes we seem to see in every movie that never want to change or can't change at all. But naturally, we diverge from that rather quickly and talk about mixed genre films, reboots and touch a bit on Joker....

Hallo, Randomers and Randomites. Rochester doesn't just keep its musical talent to itself you know. Case in point, today we're joined in studio by a Rochester native who back in 2016 moved down to Nashville to join the country music scene and has already made a splash in a very short time. Alyssa Trahan sits down with us to talk shop about her beginnings, music career, the genre of country music a...

Hello Randomers and Randomites. It was recently everyone's favorite season. No, not that one. Oscar season. The one where a bunch of people that no one has ever heard of sit in a room, look at all the people that have kicked them money over the year and then arbitrarily decide what the best movies of the previous year were. Spoiler alert? Anyway, we couldn't talk movies with our good friend Patric...

Greeting Randomers and Randomites! Love is in the air, isn't it? At least that's what we think it is. It could be ribs. Valentine's Day was not that long ago, so we decided to talk about some of the things that we love. So it's a random smattering of all things this week. We talk about Valentine's traditions, hats, TV, Saturday Morning Cartoons, spicy food, weird stores in even weirder strip malls...

Hello Randomers and Randomites. Rage on, our loyal listeners. Bauman and Dave are here and we're talking about a myriad of stuff that grinds our gears. We start talking some football, then move on to music and records, followed by live shows and our feelings about cover charges. Remember, we're not bitter... we're just too sweet for words. Stay tuned after the podcast for some music from another n...

With the hectic start to 2020, things sometimes get a little strange and discombobulated. And even we here at The Carnival are not immune to such insanity. With that, we would like to present a bit of an older episode. It was right during the big flu plague of 2019, so many people around the area were down with illness, but thankfully our buddy Dave from The False Positive braved the germ infested...

Hello Randomers and Randomites. We wouldn't let them leave, so Steve and Patrick are back to talk more about movies and underground comics and more random sophomoric humor because, let's admit it, we're children. This one's a little bit scatological, but that's damn funny and if you don't think poop and farts are funny, then you may need to rethink your priorities. This time we talk about some rea...

Greetings, Randomers & Randomites. It's time to get weird. Weird Al style. Everyone knows Weird Al Yanokic and everyone loves him and his work, even if they don't want to admit it. Well we do folks, and we're joined by two more people that do. Our friend and DM Patrick is here along with returning guest from Fox 45 Vicky. We're here to talk Weird Al and musicianship in the parody genre. But it...
