The Something Wicked Podcast

Continuing our celebration of this great film we review the remake and The Wicker Tree. We also cast our own 'Making of' production and discuss who we'd like to burn to death in a the Wicker Man.

In the first of a two-parter we discuss one of the greatest films of all time and reminisce about our annual May Day pilgrimages to the Wicker Man sites. There's also an explosive tale involving a miniature Wicker Man and a can of deep heat!

We pay tribute to the modest genius who set the standard for the classic English ghost story and who remains an influence and inspiration over a century later.

We take a disjointed and irreverent look at the case, focussing on the balls-up of an investigation including the missed opportunities and the famous hoax. We also cover the strange Les Battersby connection and rip into the risible high-pitched killer.

Another sick Yorkshireman enters the fray as we discuss the Savile connection! The feature film Peter: Portrait of a Serial Killer is critiqued and just what have Peter Shilton and Frank Sidebottom got to do with anything?!

We continue rabbiting on about the shocking case, exploring Sutcliffe’s psyche, his confession and the trial but end up lurking down a dark alley with crime-obsessed professional footballers.

We celebrate the largely unknown legend of Cliff Twemlow, a true hero who wrote and starred in his own amazing action films such as GBH, The Eye Of Satan and Target Eve Island.

Dave and Lee discuss and debate which cinematic and televisual moments scared the shit out of them the most.
