ONE THING Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. – Psalm 139:23-24 (NIV)

ONE THING Run to win! You’ve all been to the stadium and seen the athletes race. Everyone runs; one wins. Run to win. All good athletes train hard. They do it for a gold medal that tarnishes and fades. You’re after one that’s gold eternally. I don’t know about you, but I’m running hard for the finish line. I’m giving it everything I’ve got. No lazy living for me! I’m staying alert and in top condi...

Easter Services 2023

ONE THING “Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” 2 Corinthians 4:16-18 (NIV)

ONE THING Wisdom is the application of God’s knowledge! If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. – James 1:5 (NIV)

There is tension in this life between our expectations and reality. We seek what can satisfy us, but nothing in this world ever will. Solomon already went on this quest for us, and in Ecclesiastes, he provides wisdom from God. “[T]his is not the kind of book that we keep reading until we get the answer, but the kind of book that helps us know how to serve God when we do not have all the answers.”...

ONE THING He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” – Psalm 46:10 (NIV)

ONE THING Wisdom says: Don’t look to life and hope to find God. Look to God and find life.

ONE THING Let eternity capture your undivided attention.

ONE THING “No one can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love the other; you will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and be enslaved to money. – Matthew 6:24 (NLT)

ONE THING As disciples of Christ, we should be transformed and equipped to use our gifts for God.

ONE THING Grow in Christ by listening to God and obeying His Word.

ONE THING So if you’re serious about living this new resurrection life with Christ, act like it. Pursue the things over which Christ presides. Don’t shuffle along, eyes to the ground, absorbed with the things right in front of you. Look up, and be alert to what is going on around Christ—that’s where the action is. See things from his perspective. – Colossians 3:1-2 (MSG)

ONE THING The complexity of life reminds us of our absence of control. The simplicity of eternity reminds us of our hope.

ONE THING Want to enjoy life? Stop chasing the things of this world and start chasing after God.

ONE THING Life without God is insatiable (an appetite or desire impossible to satisfy).

ONE THING What is one thing that you want to have victory over this year? Write one word only on the corner of this paper and then prayerfully deposit it in the Advent in Action box in the front.
