Episode 337: Implausible vs. Indecipherable 15.05.2020 1:08:05
In this week's episode the Regular Joe's take a look at the wrap ups of two very different premium cable series. After nine years and eight seasons, Showtime's Homeland takes a bow. At this point fans who have stuck with this show have spent nearly a decade with Clare Dane's bipolar CIA operative Carrie Mathison. We've been with her through highs, and lows, and some even lower lows. Nevertheless,...

This week the Regular Joes have a full house as the regular Regulars are joined by Derryl DePriest and Brian Mix to observe the annual Star Wars holiday/marketing ploy. They have a lot to talk about as Disney+ has just wrapped up the Clone Wars for a third and seemingly final time. Warning, there will be SPOILERS, but really, if you haven't watched Clone Wars previously nothing they talk about wil...
Episode 335: Trek-Listing 01.05.2020 1:17:58
Ok, so whether you have watched a single episode, or seen all 787 installments in the Star Trek franchise, it will come as no surprise that everyone has an opinion about the quintessential American Sci Fi series. This week the Regular Joes wade in to the nerdiest of nerd exercises and run down their individual top ten lists of favorite characters from the eight TV shows and three film series. As y...
Episode 334: Regular JoeCon 24.04.2020 1:09:50
Taking some time out from simply talking about what they are watching on TV, the Regular Joes sit down with Bill Nedrow who recently published The Joy of JoeCon, a collection of essays reflecting on the history and resonance of the long running International G.I. Joe Collectors Club Convention or JoeCon. After that they talk about stuff they bought (What's in the Box) and reviving their very first...
Episode 333: 3 Guys Sit Down and Hit Record 17.04.2020 1:05:19
Yes, It's our landmark 333rd episode, we are half way to the rather ominous episode 666 and a third of the way to being one episode from 1000. For this week's episode we do what we have done most weeks over the last six years. Just three friends sitting down and talking. We cover some random topics, catch up on our most recent projects in What's on My Workbench, and because we have taken it upon o...
Episode 332: I'm your Huckleberry - A Podcast 10.04.2020 1:32:46
Val Kilmer films are like ice cream, everyone has a favorite flavor. And, as some might say, there's no accounting for taste. This week our five hosts, yes that's five, as Brian Mix is back and Derryl DePriest drops in to discuss three of Val Kilmer's very different films. Note: Mr. Kilmer was invited but was unable to attend due to a prior engagement, and ... likely his dignity. First on deck is...

The first season of CBS All Access' Star Trek Picard has wrapped and the Regular Joe's call in their west coast correspondent (and positronics expert) Brian Mix to help assess the series. They also take a post series look at Apple TV's For all Mankind, the alternate...
Episode 330: Creepy Clowns vs. Killer Robots 27.03.2020 1:10:04
This week the Regular Joes take a look at the first episodes of three very different series airing right now. First up is season Eight of Showtime's Homeland. Is it worth returning "home" if you, like so many, dropped the long running spy thriller after, or during the abysmal 6th season? Then we move on to the oddly close to home reality of Epix War of The Worlds (not to be confused with (The War...
Episode 329: Open Belly Instructions 20.03.2020 1:12:21
With not much else to do but watch TV, the Regular Joes share some of their recommendations for a good Binge Watch, while practicing the art of social distancing of course. As usual, they don't entirely agree with each other, but what fun would it be if they did! All this, plus the usual round of Random Topics and What's in the Box. As always, thanks for listening, and stay safe out there!
Episode 328: Trolling Stone 13.03.2020 1:04:46
The Rolling Stone just released a list of the top 50 films of the 1970's. Does it make our hosts grumpy old men to say people who were not even born in the 1970s probably shouldn't be picking out the best films from that era? Needless to say the Regular Joe's disagree. Truthfully, they don't entirely agree with each other, but at least they didn't try to shoehorn a bunch of pretentious crap in the...

Episode 325: Sunday Morning Talk 14.02.2020 57:32
Dave is taking to the road and Barry's house is in the throughs of reconstruction so the Regular Joes recorded this week's episode earlier on Sunday morning then Tod usually gets up. What ends up coming together is a pretty free flowing discussion about the nature of films today. Which seems appropriate given that it's recorded on the day the Academy Awards are handed out. What does winning an Osc...

The wait is over. 18 years after he last took the captain's chair Jean Luc Picard is back as Patrick Stewart reprises his most iconic role. As the Regular Joes assess this newest entry in Gene Roddenberry's universe they touch on the most recent Short Trek Children off Mars, take look...

Episode 319: What's in The Box 03.01.2020 46:28

The only way Christmas gift giving works with people like that is if, at a certain point, for instance December 1st, they stop buying stuff for themselves. Is that really so hard? Yes, it's the annual episode where the Regular Joes, three guys who buy a lot of stuff for themselves try to b...

While film critics and fans tend to be split over this film, for this episode we managed to assemble a team of four hosts who actually come down on the same side. Once again Brian Mix (our Robotics Consultant and Galaxy's Edge gu...
