Episode 7: Mark Hazzard: Merc #2 and Kickers, Inc #2 28.04.2022

These two comics start to hit their stride and one of them earns A ratings from both of us! In Mark Hazzard: Merc, Merc trades the jungles and fighting rebels for a little league baseball game. It's Merc though, so can we really imagine it isn't going to get violent? Kickers, Inc #2 features the Kickers on their first mission and maybe, just maybe there is a robot and some 80's NYC street gangs?

Episode 6: Nightmask #2 and PSI-Force #2 21.04.2022

In this episode we start by talking about the various comics books Marvel is publishing in the second month of the New Universe. Then we have Nightmask 2 where Night Mask enters the dream of his first patient, and PSI Force 2 where the kids argue while they drag the body of their fallen leader across San Fransico. Also Andy develops a new Voltron-based ratings system.

Episode 5: Starbrand #2 and Spitfire #2 15.04.2022

In this episode we look back at the first issues of each series briefly and talk about which were our favorite issues. Then we discuss Starbrand issue 2 where Ken is starting to figure out what he can and cannot do with his powers. Then Spitfire and the Troubleshooters #2 where Eddie uses a pair of strong arms to get into trouble, and Jenny and Spitfire face off against some kind of "Death Tank".

Marvel Comics New Universe Podcast Episode 4 (Justice #1 and DP7 #1) 08.04.2022

Here in this episode we work on developing a new snappy opening line (let us know if you prefer Andy's or Steven's) and get to talk about two of our favorite New Universe books: Justice and DP7. Here we also start a kill count for Justice. Will anyone survive Justice? Who is Scuzz and what is his power? Find out by listening! note: New and improved microphones in this episode and for all going for...

Marvel Comics New Universe Podcast Episode 3 (Merc #1 and Kickers Inc #1) 01.04.2022

We look at the fourth and fifth brand new series of the New Universe that are about as different from each other as possible. The gritty Mark Hazzard: Merc #1, and the more family friendly Kickers, Inc #1. Which issue has more characters die? Find out by listening! The answer may surprise you (but probably won't)

Marvel Comics New Universe Podcast Episode 2 (Nightmask #1 and PSI Force#1) 25.03.2022

We continue our tour of the issue #1s of the New Universe with Nightmask #1 and Psi Force #1. We've got a brother-sister dream exploring duo (Nightmask) and a reluctant team of teens with psychic powers (Psi Force). We also meet Wayne in Psi-Force, who would be my nomination for best new character of 1986. [re-recorded to fix audio issues]

Marvel Comics New Universe Podcast Episode 1 (Star Brand #1 and Spitfire#1) 18.03.2022
