Get Me Another

Buck Rogers and Flash Gordon inspired the creation of Star Wars whose success gave both stories a new lease on life. We discuss tv's swinging BUCK ROGERS IN THE 25TH CENTURY (1979) and the cosmic joy that is FLASH GORDON (1980).

We have our brains fried by Count Zarth Arn in Starcrash (1978), The Humanoid (1979) starring Richard Kiel (Jaws in the James Bond series) in the title role, and H.G. Wells' The Shape of Things to Come (1979) with Jack Palance.

May the Force be with you as we dig into an obscure cult film called Star Wars (1977), the Battlestar Galactica feature film/tv pilot (1978), and the Japanese space opera film Message From Space (1978).

We come to the end of the Batman (1989) cycle of films by looking at Batman Forever (1995), Batman & Robin (1997), Spawn (1997), and Mystery Men (1999).

The guys discover that not all heroes wear capes as they dive into The Shadow (1994) and The Phantom (1996).

Chris & Rob see how Batman Returns (1992) and The Crow (1994) fit into the cycle of superhero films kicked off by Batman (1989).

We continue examining the impact of Tim Burton's Batman while discussing The Rocketeer (1991) and The Flash tv pilot (1990), both written by Danny Bilson & Paul De Meo.

In our inaugural episode, we take a look at Tim Burton's 1989 Batman and several films that came out in 1990: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Dick Tracy, and Darkman.

Coming Soon - a podcast where we explore the movies that followed in the wake of blockbuster hits.
