THOUGHTS WHILE DRIVING

In this episode I share my thoughts on how a Christian should handle anger. Anger isn't necessarily evil but is often given to a lack of control that does become sinful. #bible #christianity #anger #emotions

In this episode I share how the doctrine of the sovereignty of God brings freedom and comfort. #Christianity #sovereignty #freedom

In this episode I share my thoughts about how we too often act as if things are so bad that we can't live faithfully, this is both historically and biblically false. No matter the time we can and should live faithfully. #christianity #rome #culture

In this episode I share how my experience this season with the Cincinnati Reds is not an ideal way to live the Christian life. The highs and lows of being a sports fan should not be the pattern of discipleship. Rather the life of faith should be one of consistent progress up the mountain to the Kingdom of God. #mlb #reds #christianity #faith #growth #revival

In this episode I share my thoughts about responses to the Charlie Kirk memorial. Many responded with an emotional and political perspective but missed the greater spiritual significance. The book of Jeremiah reminds us that the geopolitical outcomes are small compared with the deeper spiritual reality. #christianity #charliekirk #spiritual #political

In this episode I share my thoughts about the powerful testimony of forgiveness that was displayed during the Charlie Kirk memorial. The temptation towards anger and bitterness is great, but our Savior calls us to a better way and that better way was displayed. #forgiveness #erikakirk #charliekirk #grace

Free speech is a blessing but it is not what gives believers the authority or power to proclaim the Gospel. That authority comes from God Himself regardless of political or social conditions, favorable or not. Jeremiah ministered in a context that was hostile but that did not keep him from being faithful to his calling. In this episode I share my thoughts about how Jeremiah's ministry is a challen...

In this episode I share some recent thoughts I've had about God's timing and his judgement. We tend to emphasize the mercy side but forget His mercy is not endless but there's a line that can be crossed. #christianity #mercy #time

When we think of spiritual warfare we often have images of exorcists and ghost hunters but this is not the reality of the situation. Rather spiritual warfare is the daily battles that take place in the heart's of individual men and women. In this episode I challenge us to consider that true battle line. #christianity #spiritualwar #holiness #sin

It's easy to fall into a trap of news consumption that really isn't. What we consume is a carefully crafted strategy of the evil one to warp our souls away from Christ. In this episode I share how we must examine our hearts to be sure we aren't allowing the culture to disciple our souls more than Scripture. #news #joy #anger #fear #christianity

In this episode I share that as a follower of Christ we should never be hopeless. As a fan of a sports team it's easy to give up when it seems like the game is over, but in Jesus the believer has already won the victory and should live in that victory. #hope #jesus #buffalobills #football #nfl

In this episode I share how the Lord uses all the little threads of life to weave His plan. Many times we're completely unaware and only see how He did this in reverse. This truth should comfort and encourage us to ask how is God using me as a part of someone's life tapestry. #Christianity #sovereign #trust

In this episode I share my thoughts about how our expectations for following Christ need to be based upon the Scriptures and not our modern comfort culture. #christianity #expectation #football

On Labor Day we celebrate hard work and that's a great thing. However for the Christian it's not about our labor but about resting in the work of Christ. #laborday #christ #rest

In this episode I share my thoughts on how and why so many people deal with anxiety. Our society and the Bible say different things about this seemingly ever present struggle. #christianity #anxiety #burdens

In this episode I share my thoughts about how we tend to add burdens to our life unnecessarily which robs our peace. Often the key is subtracting that which is unnecessary so we can focus on what we are truly called to focus on. #christianity #peace #burdens #worried

In this episode I share my thoughts on how we can navigate the grind of life in the midst of change in a way that makes us look more like Jesus instead of frustrated and bitter. It's difficult for sure, but God's Word gives us wisdom and guidance. #christianity #schoolyear #growth

In this episode I reflect on what I appreciated about the ministry of the late John MacArthur and what all Christian's can learn from his life of service. #chriatianity #johnmacarthur

In this episode I share my thoughts about feeling at times as if we've failed to do what we thought we should be doing. The reality is that what we're supposed to be doing is what we are doing now for the Lord. Therefore the goal is faithfulness in that. #christianity #faithfulness #quest

In this episode I share my thoughts on how we need to allow duty and discipline to be our guide in our spiritual life over our emotions. The emotional response to our spiritual exercises is not a good gauge for how well we are doing in our walk. #christianity #duty #discipline #emotions

Charles Spurgeon died relatively poor in many ways. During his life he amassed great wealth from book sales but gave most of that wealth away.
