GoodTrash GenreCast

With guest host @kranstin we go on a hunt for the Blair Witch

It gets critical and we discuss Vampires, Apocalyptic Genres, Masculinity and Eschatology

We explore the theoretical connections within James Wan's The Conjuring. This weeks episode also has a digital artifact that makes it sound choppy it gets worse until about the 30 minute mark and gets better. It's not you or your player, it's us.

We keep it weird for Shocktober with Rob Zombie's The Lords of Salem. It's a slightly rougher episode with regard to language as some of the things in the movie are actually described...listener beware. Also a petition to save the Phantom of Opera soundstage was mentioned and you can sign too here

Guest Host Caleb Masters joins as we look at the meat and bone inside American Psycho - be sure you stay tuned until the end!

We all get a little infected with our analysis of John Carpenter's The Thing

We talk Liam Neeson's The Grey.

This week we assemble back around the brick table and put our heads together over the charming and hilarious Lego Movie, we also talk about films that sounded terrible on paper but turned out great.

More like #RaidersoftheLostFeels as we reflect on the Indiana Jones classic that started it all and the life of Robin Williams.

We will tell you the true the story on Rashomon, honest...

It's a live to tape episode with our best (and worst Arnie impressions) - Was it all just a bad dream?

We volunteer and bring some analysis to the Hunger Games. Also stay tuned to the end for a GTGC event announcement.

Even though it's still not safe, we go back into the waters of Jaws and explore with great analysis. We're not like Quint, everyone is welcome aboard!

We introduce new co-host Alexandra Bohannon and talk a lot about Jim Cameron's Aliens

It doesn't kill us as we make The Dark Knight a little stranger with some great film analysis.

Whoah! We are entering The Matrix and Kansas is going bye bye.

It gets down and nerdy as we apply scholarship to Edgar Wright's Hot Fuzz.

The gang returns to the Ciné, for the surrealist film Holy Motors. Is it art? Is it even real? Hurry and listen, before we're late to our next appointment.

We play cricket, eat crumpets and talk about this British Zom-Com

This week we head to the Grindhouse and talk about Robert Rodriguez' film Planet Terror. As always, stay tuned to the end of the show for lots of laughs and scholarly discussion of schlocky things.

Though we were slightly stalled by a Macboo.....warp core failure and the hamstringing regulations of Podbea.....errr Starfleet. We have put together more GoodTrash analysis of Star Trek Into Darkness.

Don't move, he can't see you if you don't move... but you can always listen to us ramble in academic ways about the blockbuster classic: Jurassic Park

Remember when Hot Topic had all those creepy rabbit t-shirts? We did and we went down the Donnie Darko wormhole. Listen to us discuss teenage angst and alienation, cult films, and science's relationship to Western metaphysics.

It gets snooty and artsy as we leave the kiddie pool to tackle yet another art film. We talk music, Allen himself, libidnal frustrations and what elevates film to art.

We're not bad, we're just drawn that way. That's right, dear listeners, the GTGC gang is heading to ToonTown with some serious analysis, but we still remember the value of laughter. We talk race, auteurism, film noir, marxism, and the Hollywood System....with laughs.
