2 Fast 2 Forever: The Fast and Furious Podcast

We're nearing the end of Montez's lap, but we've touched new ground: she'd never before seen The Fate of the Furious! Before we talk about Fate, though, we spend a solid half-hour talking about the latest news and updates about Fast X, along with related listener emails. Then, we pivot into discussion about The Fate of the Furious, with another terrible installment of The Montez Minute and yet ano...

It's our final recording before we see the Fast X trailer, so this episode straddles the "trailer line." We talk about the newly-released "legacy" trailer recuts, open the mailbag to (maybe) get an answer to a recent question, and (sort of) re-cast the Fast & Furious franchise. Joe has a weird idea about watching the movies (literally) in reverse. We talk about The Last of Us TV series (with SPOIL...

It's been nearly two years since the release of F9. After months of waiting, theories, expectation, and hype, the first Fast X trailer is here. The end of the road begins. In this episode, we recap the news we know (or "know") about Fast X so far, watch the trailer "live" (together!), and share our immediate thoughts. We share our reactions to the biggest stunts, surprises, and reveals and try to...

Vin Diesel may have devoted the entire Riddick franchise dedicated to his D&D fandom, but that wasn't enough. No, we needed The Last Witch Hunter, too, and we're better off for it. Joining us to talk about the "dorky, but not full dork" on display is Mark Hofmeyer (Movies, Films & Flix). We discuss would-be sequels to The Last Witch Hunter, Vin Diesel (once again!) as a non-detective detective, an...

At the start of this lap, we switched up the format of 2 Fast 2 Forever to prevent overlong episodes, but sometimes you accidentally summon double "chaos energy" (in the form of Jessica Collins, a.k.a. Montez, and Brian "Late Night" Rodriguez) and you wind up with a two-hour episode about Furious 7. After kicking off the episode with another dreadful installment of the Montez Minute, Jess answers...

It's time for another installment of Life in the Fast Lane, everyone's favorite sort-of-Fast-and-Furious episode! We're loaded up with news about the franchise, including... a date for the first trailer! Vin Diesel's status in Avatar! A way to force ourselves into the Fastiverse! And... doing Baby Brian math based on new casting -- and coming up with a story-driven way to bring Hobbs back into the...

We're heading back to the beginning of Vin Diesel's career to talk about The Iron Giant -- our 150th different movie covered on this show -- with Aaron Neuwirth (Out Now with Aaron and Abe, We Live Entertainment). We lament the fact that it's not streaming for free anywhere, discuss the two versions of the movie, and imagine it as a musical (as it was originally intended) with Vin in the lead. We...

Montez is back (with more chaos energy in tow) as we return to Japan and talk about The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift! Joey has better audio (#bless) and Montez's dog makes an appearance as we learn a lot about Montez's dad and explore Sean's dad's masculinity within the context of the Most Dom Moment. We discuss the most Dom character in Tokyo Drift and whether or not Mia ever stole from Tore...

Happy New Year! We're continuing our journey through the 2 Fast 2 Furious Minute and catching up on everything else in the newest Life in the Fast Lane! Joey has terrible audio in this episode, and you can blame Spirit Airlines for that one. (Full details in extracurricular activities, obviously.) After teasing a "sports extravaganza" episode, we discover a new YouTube comment trend and find a ton...

We're closing the Riddick chapter in our Vin Diesel lap with the titular film Riddick, and we're joined by both Nico Vasilo and Kevo Risse! Before we dive into Riddick talk (about a movie that is basically "Justice for Cole Hauser"), Kevo catches us up on his thoughts on the franchise so far. We then discuss Vin Diesel's influence on the creation of his films, the overt sexist issues present withi...

Merry Christmas! (Just don't let Joe Two hear you celebrate.) We're back with a bonus episode to commemorate the (first) time Kurt Russell donned the Santa Suit in The Christmas Chronicles, and it's a Christmas miracle... Dr. Chris Podcasts is here!  Please note that while this is a family friendly movie, it is far from a family friendly episode. After discussing our favorite Christmas movies (and...

Montez is back for Fast & Furious 6, and she brought some very chaotic energy with her to the podcast. After efforting her way through the worst (or best) Montez Minute yet, we hear her hot take on Fast & Furious 6 and we discuss what pet Dom would have. We learn something wild about "See You Again," plan Joe's funeral, and talk about Rita Ora (and "don't bite the bait") for a while. Montez makes...

It's time for another Life in the Fast Lane -- which includes explaining this format -- as we prepare for aerial ESDs! We kick off by exploring F&F news, especially the absolutely broken system within which blockbuster budgets exist, before opening the mailbag, which leads to Joe taking a beverage pledge.  We catch up on our last three weeks -- holidays! scam Xbox updates! Steelers games! -- as Jo...

Our journey through the Riddick universe continues as Nico Vasilo returns to talk about both The Chronicles of Riddick and Dark Fury! After mythologizing some backstories, we tease a (new) plan to cover Vin Diesel's music before we explain what Dark Fury is and wonder how far fans will go when it comes to metafiction. Nico goes on a comics tangent (because of course he does) (and then another late...

The Montez lap continues as we head back to Rio for Fast Five and continue to explore Montez's wild takes on this franchise. After catching us up with "the Montez Minute," Joe questions her handwriting size before we all make our picks for the Most Dom Moment (wherein Joe words something very specifically to fall under the proper jurisdiction). We talk about pregnancy in film, Vince's educational...

It’s time for another episode of Life in the Fast Lane, which means it’s another surprisingly long episode given that it’s not really “about” anything. After opening emails and announcing the return of Turbos for Tots, we tackle the latest F&F news, including the return of Young Rock and the appearance of the “Drift Tape.” Then, in Extracurricular Activities, Joe says he’s uncomfortable with the w...

It's the start of the Chronicles of Riddick episode trilogy on 2 Fast 2 Forever as we talk Pitch Black with Nico Vasilo! Our next pit stops will cover Dark Fury, The Chronicles of Riddick, and Riddick (2013), but today we're starting where it all began, with 2000's Pitch Black. We're discussing the original ideas for the movie and the character, how things changed while they made it, and what Vin...

Montez is back (with some more hot takes!) to talk about all things Fast & Furious... and to debut The Montez Minute! In this (decidedly more unhinged than normal) episode, we unveil "our" Leo and Santos, learn about the new quadrant that Montez added to her notes, and find that we've already changed her brain (in more ways than one). Montez shares the pressing questions she has about Fast & Furio...

It's time for the second installment of Life in the Fast Lane, and today we're getting heavy and somber (or are we?) as we're Breaking Down Walls. After trying to figure out Patreon math that makes any sense, we welcome in a new patron (who breaks the system) and work our way through a ton of new F&F news: an impending new trailer, a new theme park, #JusticeForHim!, Mark Wahlberg's jealousy, a Cip...

Happy Halloween! We're here with a surprise bonus episode to talk about John Carpenter's Christine, which was a first-time watch for both of us. After teasing a future lap (in the far distant future), we talk about some Fast & Furious news we didn't cover... tomorrow?! Then, we become one with our car as we talk about whether we'd rather buy a house or a car that someone died in, why Christine was...

We're kicking off another three-episode, three-location crossover with "the resident historian" Mike Manzi (Third Time's A Charm) to talk about xXx! Mike comes in hot and fresh with an original creation before Joey brings the room down with a couple of somber notes. We dive deep into the connections to the Fast and the Furious, the origin of Xander's alias, and just how "Vin" this Vin Diesel perfo...

Jessica Collins (a.k.a. Mon-TEZ) returns to the podcast for 2 Fast 2 Furious, and she is coming in HOT with talk of hate-watching. After taking care of some quick housekeeping, we dive into 2 Fast 2 Furious, which Joe is liking more than ever. Montez tells tall tales about enormous slices of pizza served by fake Italians, we make our picks for the "most Dom moment," and we discover the specific wa...

Our new format really takes hold in this episode as we introduce Life in the Fast Lane. As Roman says, "I was made for this, bruh!" Joe goes rogue very early on in the episode before we figure out (live! on air!) the new way we'll run through these episodes. Joe offers some NFTs that don't exist. We play a game involving Muppets and reveal the results of our heist team poll. We run through the pas...

Bro. It's the Vin Diesel lap, and our first pit stop is one of Joe Two's favorite movies, Boiler Room. Get psyched, bro. We're joined by Brian Rodriguez (Uncle Francis's Wine Cellar), who quickly bonds with Joe over past viewings of this movie, while Joey (as predicted) lacks all nostalgia for turn-of-the-century content. We talk about the movie's accessible quality, how it wears its influences on...

We're kicking off Lap 12 (and working our way through our new format) as we head back to Toretto's Market and Cafe for The Fast and the Furious! Joining us tonight (as she will all lap long) is Jessica Collins (a.k.a Mon-TEZ), who brings the heat right off the bat by comparing Brian to Lightning McQueen. We make our picks for the "most Dom moment" of the movie (including one not in the movie... se...
