The Upon Further Review

We were blessed to have Questlove produce an excellent documentary about the band that has had the most influence on our lives: Earth, Wind, & Fire. Even though we highlight all of the band members, it’s really a documentary that focuses on Maurice, the visionary and founder of EWF. This is one of the more honest, open, heartfelt, and interesting musical documentaries made to date. With secret...

Masters of the Universe (2026) drops in a jam packed summer movie season as the nostalgia cartoon remake that might be a few years too late. However, it actually is a painstakingly faithful to the source material iteration, that’s tastefully modernized in a way that isn’t disrespectful to its OG fans. Let us know in the comments if you enjoyed Skeletor as much as we did😭 Please! Subscribe where w...

Spider-Noir on Amazon Prime is a take on the black and white Spider-Man from the comics and is played by Nicolas Cage, who also played a version of this character from Spider-Man: Across the Spiderverse. This post WW1/prohibition/Great Depression era world sees Ben Reilly, a retired Spider-Man who has to find a new reason to be a hero, since the normal Spidey tragedy happens to him. This is a fair...

The Mandalorian and Grogu burst onto the movie screen as the lone wolf and cub duo that puts them back on the path of being bounty hunters. What this movie truly becomes is a coming of age story for our lil homie Grogu. If you have seen this movie, let us know what you think about it in the comments! The Boys finally reaches its climactic conclusion, as Butcher and the gang face Homelander head on. All of our heroes and villains get sent off in many different directions and narratively the show rather plainly tells you exactly what it’s trying to say. In the comments, tell us your favorite moment from the final season of The Boys. IG: theuponfurtherreview FB: The Upon Further Review TikTok: th...

The Punisher: One Last Kill is the epitome of a one shot. This twisted, blood filled, jam packed with aggression 45 minutes of MCU for adults, puts Frank Castle and his entire neighborhood at risk and he has to John Wick his way out of there. He deals with his demons and the one last kill he should have taken. In the comments, let us know if you think this will lead to some more Punisher or was it...

In the season two finale of Daredevil: Born Again season two, Matt finds himself fighting Fisk in court and he has to make a decision that could cost him dearly. Bullseye might be the MVP of the season, while Heather’s descent into the madness that is Muse feels under explored. We got some cool cameos at the end and some definitive set up for season three, which is already in production. In the co...

Wow! The team really cooked majorly with Maul-Shadow Lord! The last two episodes of season one gave us a chase and a horror movie all in one! Incredible deaths, harrowing escapes, and even a visit from the dark lord himself! What was your favorite moment from the season? Please! Season four of Invincible on Amazon Prime seems to be a return to form, because Thragg, Lucan, Kregg and the rest of the Viltrumites are showing us why they are the superiors of the universe. Mark gets disemboweled, Conquest comes back from the dead, Nolan is on his apology tour, Alan is still unserious, but most importantly, Thragg is the ABSOLUTE TRUTH!!!!! With season five already dropping next...

Guess who’s back!?!?! Matt Murdock makes a dramatic entrance into court for his girl Karen, because they didn’t leave on the best of terms. Heather and Fisk have a chat about the item she swiped. Jessica and Mr. Charlie have a quick chat too and we get a Luke Cage reference. Daniel makes a choice that doesn’t end well for him, but it does for BB. IG: theuponfurtherreview FB: The Upon Further Revie...

As we are being led to an explosive finale, Maul finds himself having to let the hate flow through him to survive, Daki is still trying to rely on the kindness of strangers, and papa Lawson is dead set on finding his son. Devon is still having dark side flirtations, the inquisitors jump Maul, and Sul may be the realest character on this show. Please! Subscribe where we are, especially here on YouT...

The entire crew saw Michael and we definitely are high on nostalgia. From kid MJ to MJ breaking away from his family, Michael is a music heavy biopic that tries to humanize the once larger than life entertainer. Jaafar Jackson channels Michael and gives an amazing performance of older Mike in his first acting role ever. Colman Domingo plays a menacing Joe Jackson and Nia Long as the comforting Cat...

Dealing with the ramification’s of Vanessa’s death, Fisk is quickly descending into full blown rage. Daniel is having the worst birthday ever, as BB finally starts to understand she’s playing with fire. Buck gives Heather some “therapy,” and the CIA is making multiple moves in the background to deal with Fisk’s betrayal. Karen turns into shooter and Daredevil really doesn’t want to fight with anyo...

In the best episode of Daredevil: Born Again to date, we get full circle moments from many of our characters. Daredevil and Bullseye have a long conversation, Daniel and Buck take a nerve-recking road trip, Vanessa and Wilson reminisce, and BB is still moving real stupid and sloppy. Let us know in the comments if you agree if this is the best episode yet. Please! Subscribe where we are, especially...

Another dual set of banger episodes, as Daki and Devon find themselves on the run from our favorite (maybe not alive) Inquisitor, Marrok. The Lawson’s probably have the worst day of their lives, seeing how father and son are fully thrusted into the fight with the Empire. Do you think Maul did enough to convince Devon to be his new apprentice? Be sure to leave us your answer in the comments! Please...

Maul is doing very Sith-like things in episodes 3 and 4 of Maul: Shadow Lord. He’s still trying to make an apprentice Devon, while Daki wants to save his padawan. Lawson is kind of a deadbeat dad and his droid Two Boots is a snitch. Vario is the ultimate setup person, as the Pikes don’t know he is a literal Trojan horse. Janix gets the unfortunate arrival of the galaxy’s “peacekeepers” and all hel...

In the best episode of the season as of yet, Daredevil: Born Again is taking the gloves off as Bullseye gets his target practice on and he is relentless! Everyone is starting to get sick of Fisk, Mr. Charles included. Vanessa isn’t a good listener, Sheila still making faces, BB is getting sloppier, and Matt finally shows up at a church (for info, no recompense). Please! Subscribe where we are, esp...

Maul is back and he’s doing what he does best: getting revenge on his enemies. We’re on the planet Janix and the criminal underworld is moving heavy work. Maul is moving like a methodical, thoughtful Sith as he tries to draw out his enemies. We also have a Jedi and Padawan that are vagabonds living in squalor, Maul feels he can take advantage of a young mind to further his exploits. This gritty an...

In this double episode drop of Daredevil Born Again, we have a plethora of plots vying for screen time. We question the direction of the female characters, whether the tone of the show is clear, and if the series should have been a binge drop. Drop your thoughts in the comments. Please! The Devil of Hell’s Kitchen is back and Matt Murdock is dead, alive, or missing at this juncture. Mayor Fisk is doing his best DJT impersonation, AVTF is looking very similar to a certain real life below freezing organization, PTSD abounds, and Matt is still keeping his proverbial eyes on the prize, as Karen is still in the city. In the comments, let us know your favorite moment from the episode....

In the literally explosive season finale of Paradise season two, some plot lines resolve, while others stay alive. We find out about Alex, Sinatra finds peace, time dilations, bloody noses, some dramatic saves, dramatic deaths, and in-show predictions being made. Let us know in the comments what are your prediction for season three? Please! Subscribe where we are, especially here on YouTube😊 IG:...

In penultimate episode of Paradise season two, episode seven sees the ending of our time with Gary, Teri as our black woman that saves the day, Jane with too much dip on her chip, Sinatra and Link link up (maybe a reunion of sorts), important people kids doing shenanigans, important people doing shenanigans, and President Cal Bradford was actually a prophet. Please! Subscribe where we are, especia...

Ryan Gossling stars in Project Hail Mary, a space adventure about a man who is outward brilliance and inward cowardice are at odds with each other. I don’t really wanna say too much about it, because the actual premise feels like a spoiler. If you have seen it, tells us your rating out of 10. Please! Subscribe where we are, especially here on YouTube😊 IG: theuponfurtherreview FB: The Upon Further...

While Gary is trying to throw Xavier off the scent of his wife, we take a peak into the past and look at the life of a psychopath a.k.a., Jane. She started life as a prophecy that hast yet to be fulfilled, a daughter to a wayward mother, and a person who lives her life longing for the love of a maternal figure. Xavier and Teri’s baby girl is getting impatient, while Robinson tries to protect a ver...

In another world building episode of the people outside of Paradise, we find Gary trying to live the fantasy he never could when it wasn’t the apocalypse. Teri has to exercise healthy boundaries, Xavier don’t trust Gary, Ennis is a jerk (maybe), Link’s disciples show up, and then there’s a kid named Bean. Paradise season 2 is shaping up to be the first season, but focusing on the people outside of...
