The Skinny with Mike and Adam

It's that time once again for the greatest sporting event of the  year...the Skinny Draft Special for the 2020 season! (Hold for applause)  Just like we did last year, we are 'drafting' albums to release this  calendar year to come out on top with the highest score with the help  of the iTunes User Rating. And of course, just like last year, we're opening  up the draft to...

On this week's episode of the Skinny Seconds, we revisit a segment from 2014 in which we hang out in the wilderness of Big Bear, CA and take turns creating a supergroup! One of us took this concept and turned it into a hilarious romp and it's one of my favorite things we've done on the show. So I hope that you enjoy this short and silly re-run before we record our Skinny Draft Special on next week...

With  2019 FINALLY behind us - for realsies this time - we release the second  part of our Best Songs list! This week, we share the best of the best  with our tracks 6 to 1! Please Like our page on Facebook and feel free to continue the discussion over there. Let us know what  you thought of our lists and tell us what some of YOUR favorite songs of  the year are as well. #...

With  the new year upon us and 2019 now a distant memory, Adam and Mike share  the songs that they will remember going forward as the year's BEST!  This week, we hear their Top 12 Best Songs of 2019 (part 1: songs 12 -  7). #TheAlmost  #CoryWells #TheDevilWearsPrada #TheFever333 #IPrevail #Issues  #LindseyStirling #Northlane #NothingNowhere #Slaves #TinyMovingParts

They are the ones that  surpassed our expectations and the ones that we will HIGHLY recommend to  anyone looking to listen to some great music! Thank  you for celebrating thi...

In  our part two of our three part end of the year music celebration, we  talk about the albums that let us down, the albums that we hated, and  the albums that failed to meet our (sometimes unreasonable) expectations  - it's our Most Disappointing Albums of 2019! Did you listen to any albums this year that disappointed you or just flat out hated? Please feel free to share your...

We've reached the end of 2019! What better way to celebrate than by  reflecting on all of the music and albums that we've listened to,  reviewed, and celebrated over the past year! In our part one of our  three part series, we share and discuss our Honorable Mentions - the  albums that just missed our Top 10 list this year. These are our albums that landed in our Top 20 to 11 o...

The impossible has happened! My Chemical Romance have announced that they are coming back after a 6 year hiatus. We spend some time on this week's episode discussing the band's career, what their music has meant to us, when we first became fans, and we speculate what - if anything - do they have planned for the future. Go down memory lane with us while we talk about the incredibly unique music car...

This week's episode of The Skinny Seconds, we revisit one of our favorite 'interviews' of one of our favorite 'celebrities' - the adult film star, Anna-Lee. We got one of our good friends to come in and guest star at the titular character and it was one of the most fun we had doing something funny for the show! Mike had to edit out about half an hour of unscripted laughter and banter but overall,...

The Menzingers recently released their sixth album 'Hello Exile'. And it just so happens to be the follow-up to both of our 2017 Best Album of the Year. Needless to say, we went into this album with high expectations, despite our best attempts to keep them tempered. After sitting on this record for a couple of weeks now, we finally sit down and discuss our thoughts and theories with one another an...

After taking a few months to recap the past decade of life and music, we're back this week to talk about 2019 things! On this week's episode, we go down the list of all of this year's albums that we've been listening to thus far since our last regular episode back in March. Not only that, but we check in with our music draft that we started in the beginning of the year to see who is in the lead ri...

In these mini-sodes, we'll re-release some of our favorite and most memorable clips, interviews, and skits that we've done over the years. Both for our newer listeners who may not have gone back and heard them and to re-introduce them to our long time listeners for another laugh. What better way to start...

We made it to the final episode in our decade-in-review - 2018! We had a great time discussing these recent years in life, new life, loss of love, new love, and of course, music and we hope that you did too! In this episode, we unpack and tackle an incredibly difficult year for Adam, Mike shares the story of his engagement to his bride-to-be, and take another look at the albums that were released...

We've been pretty busy in our personal lives over the past few weeks, but we managed to set aside some time to catch up with one another and record a fun and hilarious episode of The Skinny! Listen to what exciting new developments have been going on in Mike and Adam's lives, plus we react to some of the big music news and album announcements in the music scene such as upcoming music from Thrice,...

Adam and Mike got together and recorded a fun and casual episode in which we have some fun and do what only good friends can do...and that's read the latest chapter in the popular fantasy series, "The Chronicles of Unicorn and Koala".  Also, we share our thoughts at the recent news involving Capsize so that we can still call this a music related show. We hope that you enjoy this fast-and-loose epi...

As punishment for not predicting the future and getting his bets terribly, terribly wrong in the 2018 Betting Special, we get to listen to Mike go slowly mad over the course of this episode while he's forced to listen to two of his least favorite songs from the last five years on a constant loop! No worries to you, the listener; the music loop is edited out to save your sanity.  We also catch up o...

We've got a stacked episode for this week! Of course, the talk-of-the-town, we have a very spirited (that's the spirited?) track-by-track discussion on the shocking and highly anticipated album from Bring Me The Horizon, 'amo'. How does this new direction for the band sit with the both us?  We pick our bands in our first Skinny Draft Special - another version of our annual betting episodes! We hop...
