The Hobby With Cage

NCAA is crazy- but that is not the madness I am talking aboutIts Hobby Madness as Huge Cards sell for Huge prices and there are no signs that this is slowing down.

Sometimes you have to know your role. Some cards- you are not the final boss. You are not meant to be the final ownerBUT- if you sell- what do you buy next?

You can feel lucky in this space. And it's not just the luck of the Irish. There really so many great things happening at this time of the year that all lead to the hobby being more fun and having more opportunities.

From the Sports providing excitement, to the young stars who will soon be the cards everyone chases, to the shows, to the community and all of the above- the Hobby is Unstoppable.

The high end is flying- but that's not where I am having fun playing. For me- the shallow end of the hobby pool is actually where you can do a deeper dive.

The best community and best hobby in the world. Lets talk about how I find my next card.and about how I was right about the best draft class ever!

Nope. We are not rich.. not yet at least. I have been called a clown more times this week than I can count. But deep down- you know I am right.

Its not rage bait... It's not even Cage bait. Let me tell you why Kobe isn't a top 5 player- and its not even close.

Bam scores 83...Team Italy might have just eliminated Team USA...The raiders went from bad to good to bad again.. and that was all in one night!

Lots of momentum. And I don't think its stopping any time soon.

A trip to a card show brings a renewed sense of nostalgia and love for the hobby. And not just the high end!

The tale of the card purchased on vacation comes to a conclusion. and it's a good one. And lets talk about why eBay is not good!

Nah- the market isn't crashing any time soon. In fact- there are so many reasons to be positive about this space!

I was reminded yesterday that the Hobby is in a good place. And it's more than just the prices. The kids of today are part of the hobby- and unlike my generation, they don't have to leave. Oh yeah- and the prices are strong!!

I made a deal - but it looks like the seller may not be a Hobby Good Guy. Lessons learned? lets discuss the steps you can take to protect yourself!

OK. You sold a card or 2. What now? When the market is hot- finding the next card to buy isn't so easy.

Hobby Emotions come in many forms. For me its bidding on an auction...its going to a show with my son.. its the hobby stepping up and doing the right thing.

Record sales on top... record sales on the bottom. Where do we go from here?

When everyone puts their own spin on a story- someone has to go to the source. Why not me?

Value? What does it mean? We can all look up comps- but let's go deeper. When the world values a card for more than what you value it for- when someone is willing to pay you more than what that card is worth to you, is it time to sell? What factors go into that equations for you?

We all know what happens next.. but with no clocks on the way and no way to tell when everyone turns back into pumpkins and mice... what do we do? We keep dancing, drinking and pretending that midnight isn't coming.

Some recent content had me thinking about how we determine which card of our player we choose to spend our money on and why.

Ok- you guessed it. I took the easy way outing said all of the above. Ohtani is cheap, expensive and just right- all at the same time!

No more flawless. No More NT. Topps has the NBA and now the NFL, So what will they release to be the NT and Flawless? My bet is that Dynasty and Definitive take the place of Flawless and NT and the result? People take a long look at those product in the prior years of baseball. I could be wrong- but that doesn't happen often...

It's that time again, Time to make some piles and sort the PC. Time to make some tough choices. But this year, 2026 brings a wrinkle to our process. A new addition that I am using that may help you as well.
