The Dad Life

What is a friend? A friend is someone who is faithfully by your side and will be honest with you no matter what. Do you have someone in your life who is like that? Do you have a close friend? If not, pray that you find one, if so, hold on to that gem! I pray this episode is encouraging to you!

He who finds a wife finds a good thing! What a hard statement when it comes to those who are single. When you're single, you are trying to find a wife. Pray that you find one and once you do pursue her till the day you die! Being married is an amazing experience and the Lord blesses us when we find a wife, pursue that wife, and we treat her how she ought to be treated!

Yes, the title is a bit misleading. Because understanding your wife will always be a work in progress, but I hope this episode can be a help to get some of us on the right track of how we ought to at least attempt to understand the person God has chosen to be our other half. I hope this episode is of some benefit and sanctification for you!

We often read the Bible expecting God to do these major things for us while reading or maybe we can find ourself in the story that will magically help us fix our life. Well, the Bible is not about you or me. the Bible is about a Holy God who has chosen to show how he has worked in history to redeem a particular people unto himself. Life will through many things at us, and it is up to us how we are going to respond to those obstacles, and the Proverbs provide us a road map that can lead us down a road of peace and abundance. Let us find that path and take it!

We all tend to complain and be unthankful for the blessings we have, but unfortunately our kids will mimic what we say and do. So as Christians, we must always be thankful...primarily because of our salvation, but also because God has blessed us with many reasons to be thankful. Let us, as parents, choose wisely.

Are you a blessed man? Well, I hope the answer is yes. The blessed man is one who delights in the law of God and abides in his word. I have a challenge for you this week, memorize Psalm 1:1-2 with me so that we can work towards being a blessed man who is influenced by the word of God and not the world. Deuteronomy 6 is a passage that encourages every parent not only to teach our kids, but to be so full of God's word that we will naturally teach them out of love and respect for God. God tells us that kids ought to obey their parents, well they will obey if we can lovingly discipline when they do not obey.
