River of Life Church - St Joseph

Week 4! This week we turn our attention to Genesis 3 and the "Fall of Man." Pastor Tyler discusses how God's command not to eat from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil was not some arbitrary command. Instead, God was making a statement that Adam and Eve should get their life and wisdom from Him. Adam and Eve instead reject that so they can define their own terms for their lives. We face this s...

Oh the humanity! This week we cover what Genesis is saying about humans, our value, purpose, and role within God's good creation. The end of Genesis 1 and all of Genesis 2 have a lot to say about how we should view ourselves and our place in the world.

The next part of Genesis that we cover is the 6 days of creation in Genesis 1:1-2:3. Pastor Tyler talks in this sermon about how the 6 days are arranged categorically to make some important theological points that can have a profound impact on our lives.

This series is about Genesis 1-11. Understanding the earliest parts of the Bible helps us know God deeper, engage with his Word better, and discover our rightful place in God's creation. This week we open by focusing on the first two verses of Genesis 1.

This week we wrap up our vision series talking about how we will grow the Kingdom of God: through having a mentality that says we will GO out with the Gospel to the world around us.

This week we continue our Vision series and talk about how to stay the course during 2025. The main idea is that true discipleship (becoming like Jesus) happens outside the doors of the church. Sunday church is vitally important to our walk of faith, but we cannot have a Sunday-centric faith. The true expression of our faith to Jesus happens during the week.

This week we begin a vision series for 2025 that will be centered on what type of church that God wants RLC St Joe to be in the upcoming year.

We close out our Christmas series focusing in on Joseph. Joseph is just a regular guy that God uses in a big way--which is inspiring to all of us who feel like we aren't special enough for God to use us. This sermon highlights the truth that God can use anyone who is willing and available.

This originally took place on Dec 22nd and was our family Christmas service where we had the kids with us in service. The sermon was geared to be interesting both for kids and adults as we discussed 3 truths that Christmas teaches us.

This week we discuss the villain of the Christmas Story, King Herod, and discover what not to do with Christ when we encounter him in our lives.

This week we hear from one of our amazing church members, Jackie Leedahl, as she shares about the shepherds in the Christmas story.

We begin our Christmas series where we will highlight different characters and see what we can learn from each one. This week we cover Mary, the mother of Jesus.

This week we talk about how God has put the Church on mission and that by giving to Kingdom Builders (missions work), we are able to help fulfill that mission wherever God has placed us.

This week we talk about the blessing of tithing and what that looks like in our lives. Tithing is not meant to be a burden. It's meant to be a gift in your life.

This week we kick of a new mini-series called Blessed where we discuss the topics of generosity, greed, and giving. This sermon keys in on the idea of our hearts being set on God rather than on greed.

This week we get to hear from the Lead Pastor of all of our River of Life Churches, Kyle Peterson. He shares a great sermon on how comfort is the enemy of spiritual growth and how we need to embrace being uncomfortable in our faith journeys.

In this week, we cover the topics of Regeneration and Sanctification. God makes us new and makes us holy when we accept Jesus!

This week starts a new series covering what God does in our lives when we get saved. We are going to cover salvation, justification, regeneration, sanctification, and glorification. These "big words" are simply theological terms that quickly describe the profound work God does in our lives. We are going to talk about what these words mean so that we can understand better what God does in our lives...

In this sermon, we bring the Practicing the Way series to a close by talking about how to practically live out our apprenticeship to Jesus through implementing the practices of our faith.

This week we cover the idea of Doing as Jesus Did and carrying the mission of God forward in our lives.

In week 3 of our Practicing the Way series we cover the idea of becoming like Jesus. Our faith has to lead to us becoming like Jesus for it to truly be discipleship.

We continue our Practicing the Way series talking about the first and foremost call of a disciple: to be with their rabbi. For us today, that means we need to abide in Jesus. This is the start of growing in our faith.

This week we begin a new series about what it means to be a Christian and what it means to grow in our faith. This series is inspired by the concepts of the book Practicing the Way by John Mark Comer.

This is a stand alone series where we discuss that if Jesus is really who he says that he is, then that should have a massive impact on how we live our lives.

This week we discuss the truth that life has seasons -- both good and bad -- that we get to navigate through. God is working in every season of our lives and we have a role to play no matter what season we are going through. We take five truths out of Ecclesiastes 3:1-13 that apply deeply to our lives.
