Pastor Jeffrey Walter

The process of becoming spiritual begins with our obedience to the natural truths we receive from doctrine. This stage is characterised by struggles because, our hearts are not yet converted, i.e., the desires of our hearts are contrary to that of the Word. This is what is represented in the scriptures as life under the fig tree. At this stage, the one who must deny himself by obeying the natural...

The speech of a man consists of two components: the words and the sound. While the word is the information given, the sound carries the vibes or condition of heart from which the words are spoken. Though we are easily drawn to focus on getting the right wording, it is the sound that carries the impact. We must therefore focus on obtaining the right sound if the Lord would be made manifest in us. H...

God has dealt with every man a measure of faith so that we can be of use to the Kingdom of God. Thus, God separates everyone from their mother’s womb unto a particular use. Why is this not apparent to everyone? Why are some under the impression that they have nothing to offer? Why is it difficult for many to identify their unique vessel? The answer is in CONSECRATION! Without consecration, the bea...

One indicator that shows that we are truly being transformed is our love for the brethren (those on the same spiritual journey with us). Our love for the brethren stems from our appreciation of the agenda of God and our delight in His will being accomplished in the brethren. The uniting principle is in the common vision we share: the advancement of the Kingdom. As such, we need to overlook the sho...

There is a spiritual siege against the heavenly agenda for the human race. Our engagement in the day-to-day activities which is meant to bring us in alignment with God ends up separating us further away from God. This is because our carnal desires/ambitions have been projected as the ultimate will. We begin to believe God endorses them, until we finally get to the point where there is no drive to...

The time of battle is not the time to gather your armoury. You must therefore prepare for the evil day while it is day. The preparation involves striving lawfully, based on the external truths, so that we can enter spiritual truths. The first stage of preparation involves learning to fill up the gaps in your understanding. Secondly, you must make decisions as to your course of action prior to the...

Those who labour with the external truth to overcome the evils of their hearts make contact with spiritual truth internally. This contact is what constitutes a person's faith. The spiritual knowledge comes to rest in what is called the vessel of the person. It resides in the vessel so that it can be expressed. This awareness is an appreciation of what the individual can supply for the common g...

What is the proof that Jesus resurrected and is alive? What is the proof that God exists? What is the proof that God loves us? What is the proof that the Bible is true and inspired by God?... These and many fundamental questions confront the honest seeker of truth. The answer to these questions differentiates the one who believes in God from the one who does not. Whilst many confine themselves to...

We first learn truths from doctrine via our natural senses. These truths we gather through the senses come to meet deep-seated falsehoods from which we lived before meeting the truth. Thus, the external knowledge resides only in our external memory. As such, we are not deeply affected by such knowledge. That is why we doubt the many truths we’ve read or heard from scripture in the face of challeng...

The Word of God sets before us hope of what we could become. However, the instructions of God meet us at different levels in our spiritual development. As such, many of the spiritual steps we take may not yield the anticipated results. For example, as we strive to suffer righteously, we may not immediately get a breakthrough. This is because, it takes several tortuous steps to attain spiritual mas...

The evil affections (lusts of the flesh) that stand in the way of the Lord’s abode in us are the things we need to suffer the loss of. In the scriptures they are symbolised by the little foxes that destroy the vine. Their secret nature makes us downplay the harm they cause. Thus, we don’t easily see the urgency in giving them up. Furthermore, they exaggerate the pain of suffering their loss (which...

What sets one person apart from another in a particular field of operation? Why do the operations of one person carry more impact than another? The difference is the AUTHORITY from which a person acts - what qualifies a person to operate in a particular field. In the same vein, for us to operate as messengers of God, we need spiritual authority. This spiritual authority, being our righteousness is...

Just as Jesus, when He took the human form was made perfect as the captain of our salvation (endued with all power and authority) through suffering, so are we humans able to access divine power only through suffering. The suffering is in giving up the human will power, weaknesses and vainglory that the divine will and glory may be freely expressed in us. Thus, the process of suffering turns us int...

When the desires of men are carnal, they tend to appreciate suffering only on a carnal level. For this very reason, the sufferings of Jesus that made Him perfect as the captain of our salvation, is often misunderstood. To understand Jesus’s suffering, being the real suffering, we are called to emulate. Our focus should not be on the external humiliation which is possible because of our pride and s...

In this evil and adulterous generation, truth is very scarce. A lot of what is being peddled around as truth is incapable of leading men to God. The need for true light increases day by day. It behoves those who come into contact with true saving knowledge to propagate it. Moreso, those who have been exposed to the Lord’s burden are called to bear His burden. This message which follows the series,...

Doctrine (the friend of the bridegroom) paints an image of what life with God, the groom, is like. The image can be so vivid that, you may feel it already in your possession. Yet, you have to go through the processes that will mould you into the vessel ready to contain the heavenly inheritance. For example, the previous episodes paint a picture of the will of God for us to take up the role of the...

God’s love for the human race is in seeking the spiritual good of all men. The one who buys into this vision is the one who loves the Lord and seeks that, men are prepared to be joined to the Lord; he is the friend of the bridegroom. However, the friend of the bridegroom must appreciate the demonic influences that enslave the human race they are trying to prepare. His work must not just be in simp...

The fact that God is love is something we easily agree on. What is widely misconstrued is the nature of this love. For example, when we claim the love of God has been shed abroad in our hearts, our perception is totally different from what exactly this love is. GOD’S LOVE IS A LOVE FOR THE HUMAN RACE. God’s love for the human race was proven when He overcame all the temptations He faced during His...

Evil affections block people from accessing the Lord. Thus, before the Lord can appear to any man, such a man must be purged from their own affections. This is the preparation that makes a man ready to be joined to the Lord as a bride prepared for her groom. This principle is what the friend of the bridegroom embodies - the responsibility of the church. In the series, “Friends of God”, Pastor Jeff...

The spiritual life is likened to a merchant man who trades for goodly pearls. What we trade is not the natural steps taken, for no natural step has in it the ability to yield a spiritual result but the understanding that instructed that activity. Thus, the Word of God is the only certified seed that is sown by our obedience in our natural steps. By our obedience to the Word, we buy for ourselves r...

The truths that come to us offer us the opportunity to trade for spiritual experience. The Christian is therefore described in the scriptures as a “merchant man”. We trade with the truth the Lord gives us. By applying ourselves to the truths in situations of life, we buy the spiritual good the Lord has for us. It is not the natural things/actions we trade but the understanding of truth we have con...

A stronghold, just like any empire, is not built in a day. There are several scenarios within which we engage to give room for the strongholds to be established. Thus, the establishment of any stronghold runs so deep. As such, one sweeping step is not enough to deal with the stronghold. Furthermore, a stronghold is not built in isolation. There are strong belief systems first established with us w...

Demonic attacks can be categorized into natural anxieties and spiritual anxieties. Natural anxieties result from the fear of loss of the natural life or things pertaining to it while the spiritual anxieties result from the fear of loss of the spiritual life (which constitute temptations). Usually, our approach to fighting natural anxieties is to move to secure our natural possessions. This approac...

There are many schools of thoughts about the origin of angels and devils. Ironically, the popular notion held in the church has no scriptural basis. Furthermore, many of these theories are inconsistent with spiritual principles that govern the make-up of angels, spirits and human beings. Human beings are spirits whose manifestation are contained because of the material body. A spiritual body is wh...

The stronghold of an army is not exposed. Likewise, the stronghold of demonic forces in our lives usually go unnoticed. We end up fighting wrong enemies and worthless battles while demonic activities thrive with us. Our attempt to salvage the situation only further champions the course of the demonic activities in our lives. To successfully fight demonic activities in our lives, we must understand...
