"You know what the fellow said—In Italy, for thirty years under the Borgias, they had warfare, terror, murder, and bloodshed, but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, and the Renaissance. On the Export Audio Network, they had wifely love, they had four years of content, and what did that produce? A Twin Peaks podcast." Next week we will be back to talk about Hana-bi ! You can f...

CONTENT WARNING: We talk about rape, sexual abuse, and the sexualization of young girls in this one. Surprising no one, Niamh wanted to watch two Japanese crime films from 1973. Next week we will be back to talk about Aquarius actually truly for real this time. You can follow Niamh on twitter @FoxmomNia and listen to faer other podcast, Ghost Divers, by going to exportaud.io/ghostdivers You can fo...

"That's a terrible podcast. Jack, what cat did you have to strangle to get that?" "The one you hired. That's her cringe takes." "You mean you didn't dub that?" You kind find the review of Blow-Up by Roger Ebert that Niamh mentioned here: https://www.rogerebert.com/reviews/great-movie-blow-up-1966 Next week we will be back to talk about Kleber Mendonça Filho's Aquarius...

"Podcasts don't mean anything when I do them. Just a mess. Afterwards, I find something to hang on to. Then it sorts itself out and adds up. It's like finding a clue in a detective story. Don't ask me about this one. I don't know yet." Next week we will be back to talk about De Palma's Blow Out ! You can follow Niamh on twitter @FoxmomNia and listen to faer other podcast, Ghost Divers, b...

Autumn got a bad cold this week and Niamh has been low key depressed about faer birthday so we didn't end up watching Blow-Up when we intended to. However, we did still watch Pig and Tetsuo: The Iron Man because we didn't know then that we wouldn't have a chance to watch Blow-Up later, plus Niamh watched a bunch of other stuff on faer own. So we figured we might as well record a nice short little...

"So you've come, Listener. Why did you press play on this podcast? You know why? By pressing play, you could learn my true secret, all by yourself. You didn't have to, though. Anyone who wants to meet their true self is bound to make their own podcast someday. It's fate." We are joined today by Em of Abnormal Mapping! It was a blast to have them on as our first guest. Next week we will b...

I don't have a funny edit to a famous quote for this one, I think this was just a really good episode of our show. You can follow Niamh on twitter @FoxmomNia and listen to faer other podcast, Ghost Divers, by going to exportaud.io/ghostdivers . You can follow Autumn on twitter by going to @Autumnal...

Welcome to the overstuffed Ornate Stairwells / Ghost Divers crossover event! Niamh watched Ghost in the Shell (1995) and recorded a Stairwells episode about it with Autumn, then a few days later recorded a Ghost Divers episode about it with Connor. Then fae stitched both conversations together. It’s a whole lot of Niamh and a whole lot of Ghost in the Shell. It's also, hopefully, two interestingly...

We are back! We took a week off because of various mental health and physical health crises, but all is well, everyone is on the mend and feeling better. And on the other side of it we bring you a slightly unusual episode: we had watched Boyz n the Hood like 3 days before when we were originally supposed to record, so the movie is not as fresh in our minds as we normally like it to be. But 1. we L...

“A three-and-a-half-hour podcast has every fan’s wish as its subject. For some they enrapture the ear. For others they play on forever, never fading to white noise, never getting interesting until the listener turns their podcast app off in resignation, their dreams mocked to death by time. That is the life of a podcast fan. Now, podcasters omit all the things they don’t want to cover and cover al...

It's a prison podcast. It's a podcast to listen to in prison. The whole damn day. To keep you from thinking. To forget about the prison you're in and recreate it in your mind. To forget about the bars you have in front of you. That's it. It's a hypnotic discussion that turns you into a fool. It's an illusion of freedom. So that people don't think. Yes, no, film, aesthetics, yes. Stairwells? Yes. O...

We're back to our usual antics this week and while neither of us watched 2046 like we said we would, we are here to talk about a bunch of films owned by the Disney corporation before we get into our main feature. Shoutouts to the Cinema Culture Society of Ghana for making this film available for free on YouTube. Next week we will be back to talk about Ema (2019). You can follow Niamh on twitter @F...

LINK TO THE MOVIE: https://youtu.be/UEMD9f_N5KU A giant meteor passed by our recording studio here on the Battleship Star Wars and landed on earth. It turns out the meteor contained an evil assassin, and he went and injected Ivy, the most talented and intelligent girl in the world, with some bad bacteria or something. We are ashamed to admit it, but all our good movie takes are actually beamed to...

In which Nia brought Police Story because she was appalled I hadn't seen Police Story, and then 20 minutes in I remembered I had in fact seen Police Story. Oh well! This movie still kicks ass! Next week we will be back to talk about Love Brewed in the African Pot You can follow Niamh on twitter @FoxmomNia and listen to faer other podcast, Ghost Divers, by going to exportaud.io/ghostdivers You can...

We ended up not having time to watch 2046, but we did still have time to record a 3½ hour podcast about a bunch of other movies we watched. Somehow this makes sense. Just trust us. Anyway, in addition to running through a bunch of stuff we watched, we also look back at the start of the podcast and how it’s changed our relationship to cinema. Next week we will be back to talk about Police Story! We...

This episode is coming in HOT off the presses. We literally finished recording like 20 minutes ago lol. We spent an HOUR talking about other stuff before getting around to this UTTERLY FANTASTIC Christmas movie! I was really blown away by this one! We also talk at length about what really makes something a Christmas movie! It's a good time. Next week we will be back to talk about 2046 , Wong Kar-W...

Frightening, isn’t it? The cursed destiny of a podcaster. What a mix of cruelty and laughter it is! Let’s look forward to the next episode on Tokyo Godfathers . Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye. You can follow Niamh on twitter @FoxmomNia and listen to faer other podcast, Ghost Divers, by going to exportaud.io/ghostdivers You can follow Autumn on twitter by going to @Autumnal_Coffee and listen to all of t...

Niamh is no longer the one who brought the worst movie we've ever covered. Next week we will be back to talk about a much better movie that's also kind of sensationalizing trans people, Funeral Parade of Roses ! You can follow Niamh on twitter @FoxmomNia and listen to faer other podcast, Ghost Divers, by going to exportaud.io/ghostdivers You can follow Autumn on twitter by going to @Autumnal_Coffe...

Podcasters—such strange animals. What are they living for? Their faces are lifeless, dead. They're desperately pretending to be alive. Why make such a big deal about slaughtering one of these dumb beasts? It was no crime. Far more ordinary than that. Spoiler warning: Niamh rants a little about the last two Eva Rebuild movies at the end of this podcast. You'll know when it's happening and if you do...

This episode is mostly just us listening to last week's episode in silence and going to pee. Next week we will be back to talk about the movie that named this podcast, Pale Flower ! You can follow Niamh on twitter @FoxmomNia and listen to faer other podcast, Ghost Divers, by going to exportaud.io/ghostdivers You can follow Autumn on twitter by going to @Autumnal_Coffee and listen to all of their p...
