5x11 - Dracula: The Series (1990), 11 of 21 12.02.2023 45:45
Let's do the time warp again! Or, at least Andrew's convinced these episodes aired out of order (the proof is in the poloraids)! Listen as Emily and Andrew discuss whether or not grown women creeping on teenagers is better or worse when it's not sapphic (but still male gaze-y), Uncle Gustav's terrible vampire hunting, what Canadians talk aboot, and Max's #$%@&ing fedora.
5x10 - Dracula: The Series (1990), 10 of 21 05.02.2023 47:49
After the episode impresses Emily and Andrew with the ability to pan the camera three whole times, they immediately get depressed and disgusted, both by the "rock and roll" subplot, but mostly the felonious male gaze groomer A plot.
5×9 - Dracula: The Series (1990), 9 of 21 30.01.2023 48:06
Emily and Andrew once again leave DRACULA unconvinced of the show's conceits, this time involving psychics, Uncle Gustav being a desired television guest, and Dracula's ability to consume Orville Redenbacher's (sadly in not in a lewd way). But they do like adorable lagomorphs.
5×8 - Dracula: The Series (1990), 8 of 21 22.01.2023 48:42
In another startling development... Emily and Andrew discover, under the right circumstances, the show can be downright charming and delightful. Albeit only when guest mom is Dracula's bride and ready to destroy the regular cast but still. Who knew? Join them for a spirited discussion of power suits, capitalist greed, and the smell of decaying flesh. Oh, and t-shirts! https://www.redbubble.com/i/t...
5x7 - Dracula: The Series (1990), 7 of 21 15.01.2023 39:24
In a surprise twist, Emily and Andrew find themselves unironically praising some of this episode. But heaping on the praise (for special guest star Kim Coates). They also talk about toxic whiny boys, bad acting, Canadian accents, bad Canadian accent acting, and much more.
5x6 - Dracula: The Series (1990), 6 of 21 08.01.2023 46:04
Emily and Andrew celebrate St. George's Eve early this year with a very special family-focused episode of DRACULA: THE SERIES. Listen as Emily delights in Geraint Wyn Davies's over-"acting", as Andrew threatens to make her watch NICK KNIGHT for more of it, and they both wonder why the show avoids having female guest stars. Other than the obvious reasons.
5×5 - Dracula: The Series (1990), 5 of 21 03.01.2023 47:38
Featuring a very special guest star (in other words, Emily couldn't edit out a cat cameo)! Join Emily and Andrew in their first episode of 2023, which Emily didn't enjoy anywhere near as much as Andrew, though he's convinced it's because she missed a vital part of the final showdown!
5x4 - Dracula: The Series (1990), 4 of 21 25.12.2022 40:02
How can DRACULA disappoint? Listen as Emily and Andrew count the many ways--including with the teen dating subplot, leading to some dated references for millennials and Gen-Xers, trying to suss the vampire "rules," and lengthy discussions about terrible acting.
5×3 - Dracula: The Series (1990), 3 of 21 18.12.2022 47:31
Emily and Andrew are delighted to discover DRACULA: THE SERIES isn't anywhere near done being amazing, what with energy bolts, starcrossed lover monologues, tai chi, and Geordi Johnson deciding he's not over-acting enough yet.
5×2 - Dracula: The Series (1990), 2 of 21 11.12.2022 53:41
It's another vampire genre-busting episode of DRACULA: THE SERIES and Emily and Andrew are thrilled to be along for the ride. Listen as they spot new houses, new backstories, new tropes, but the same old exercise bike and some truly godawful kid acting.
5x1 - Dracula: The Series (1990), 1 of 21 04.12.2022 47:20
Apparently in service to the Dark Lord of Boredom, Emily unleashes DRACULA: THE SERIES on Andrew and the 21st century. Listen as they discuss rap, hip hop, and some ska, how much vampires like poppy seeds, how big poppy seeds tend to be, creepy older men and teenage girls, horny business moms, bad special effects, and Luxembourgian architecture.
Season 5 Announcement! 24.11.2022 1:16
You heard it here first, folks!
4x13 - Police Squad, 6 of 6 20.11.2022 41:59
Emily and Andrew reach the end of POLICE SQUAD (IN COLOR) and sadly bid farewell to this actually great series. Listen as they discuss Peter Lupus, Leslie Neilsen (FTW), guest stars, comedy tropes, and much more.
4x12 - Police Squad, 5 of 6 13.11.2022 46:36
Emily and Andrew are back on the beat with another episode of POLICE SQUAD IN COLOR. Listen as they regal Peter Lupus and Leslie Nielsen, talk repetitive jokes, and argue about the shoe shine guy.
4x11 - What else is going on? 06.11.2022 45:57
Thanks to Coronavirus disease 2019 (and a cat with pillow foot), Andrew was unable to report for his POLICE SQUAD (IN COLOR) duty, and instead made Emily talk about her current media consumption. When it got to be his turn, they realized there was an obvious, TARDIS-shaped topic they could talk about until they literally ran out of time
4x10 - Police Squad, 4 of 6 30.10.2022 38:21
Emily and Andrew have entered the second half of POLICE SQUAD (in color) and discovered maybe these types of projects work better as ninety-minute movies. Though they are very impressed with the guy who's not back in the NAKED GUN.
4x9 - Police Squad, 3 of 6 23.10.2022 36:39
Emily and Andrew finally hit the first problematic POLICE SQUAD, albeit--thankfully--briefly, unless you want to talk about delightful (albeit exploited) primate actors, who also figure into this quite funny episode. The pod also required extra editing from Emily because of fire alarms; she saved you from the beeps, but not from Andrew's ad-libbing.
4×8 - Police Squad, 2 of 6 16.10.2022 33:39
Emily and Andrew head to Cleveland for the big fight! Or is it Cincinnati? Regardless, listen as they discuss the second episode of POLICE SQUAD, directed by Joe Dante and co-wrriten by Robert Wuhl, which has a lot less Leslie Nielsen showcases, but still works out.
4x7 - Police Squad, 1 of 6 10.10.2022 45:56
Emily and Andrew head into the Season 4, Act 2, Yankees 4: Police Squad, the original "brilliant but cancelled." Listen as they discuss terrible white men doing great work in the eighties, comedy timing, good writing, and all the things they haven't been able to talk about for ages on this pod!
4x6 - Morton & Hayes, Episode Six 03.10.2022 34:19
Emily and Andrew have reached the end of Morton & Hayes, expecting to find the Red Skull waiting to throw one of them off a mountain (blowhardy Emily hasn't seen it, no spoiler). Instead, they once again find Rob Reiner grating, Bob Amarel underutilized, and Kevin Pollak disappointing. What about the guest stars? Buckle up....
4x5 - Morton & Hayes, Episode Five 25.09.2022 38:16
Emily and Andrew reach the penultimate "M&H" with some hard truths about Christopher Guest's direction, Rob Reiner's sense of humor, shows poorly executing trope standards, and surprise good (and bad) acting.
4x4 - Morton & Hayes, Episode 4 18.09.2022 28:45
Emily and Andrew head out of Hong Kong Bay to the island of Ooloo the Giant, happy to sing and dance along the heroes, be not underwhelmed wtih guest starring friend Courteney Cox, but still suffer the double hits of Christopher Guest.
4x3 - Morton & Hayes, Episode 3 11.09.2022 28:26
Join Emily and Andrew as they discuss how nice it was to have enjoyed the second episode of the show as they talk about the third episode. Listen as they cringe their way through the episode, which features an early appearance from Allison Janney.
4x2 - Morton & Hayes, Episode 2 04.09.2022 27:15
Emily and Andrew are pleasently surprised with the second episode, a riff on old Universal Monster movies, with great guest stars and, of course, some excellent Kevin Pollak.
4x1 - Morton & Hayes (1991), Episode 1 28.08.2022 41:36
Join Emily and Andrew as they break through the bounds of their contemporary confinement and journey back to 1991, when Rob Reiner, Michael McKean, and Christopher Guest thought it'd be a good idea to do a NAKED GUN-style spoof of old comedy shorts. Listen as they discuss charming hosts, familiar guest stars, and constant anachronisms.
