Omg Tarot! A Podcast About Reading Tarot Cards

Yes, it's a long title, but that's because there's a ton of amazing insights in this episode! I sat down with Lily Martin, a psychic medium, tarot card reader, and salt reader to discuss our wide range of experiences with tarot, the clairs (clairvoyance, claircognizance, clairaudience, etc), and working with people who come to us seeking insight and answers. Get an insider's look a...

In your tarot deck, the backgrounds matter. Where are the figures? How are they engaging with their environments? ...Are they on stage, performing a play? There's some compelling evidence to support that last point, at least for certain cards. But with every card in the deck, you're looking at a full picture with a horizon line, details, a foreground and a background, and the entire story...

Pathworking is a fantastic tool for visualizing our world and the symbols you encounter within it. As you might imagine, it's also a powerful way to explore your tarot deck. In this episode, I sit down with Niko Contouris, tarot reader, pathworker, author and tour guide, to chat about his experiences with exploring the tarot this way. We also get into the Thoth tarot a bit, since I've just...

In my experience, tarot is best when it's enjoyed with friends. Today's guest, tarot reader and teacher Stefanie Wittmaak, has had the same experience...and as a fellow Scorpio Rising, an eerily similar tarot journey 😲 Listen now to learn more about our experiences starting tarot clubs, teaching tarot courses, and more about the things we've encountered in this wide, magickal world. C...

Your forecast for this week, grouped by modality. Listen for your Sun, Moon, and Rising.

When you've been reading tarot as long as I have, you tend to notice things. Patterns emerge. You understand people differently. Here are a few of the observations I've made over the years.

Hey all, I know it's been a few weeks since one of these made it over to Spotify...between tech stuff and personal stuff, it's been a rough couple weeks at House Omg. But in case you're looking for your tarot forecast and you don't see it posted to Spotify, it's always on Instagram. Join me live or watch it as a reel after the fact; it's always up on Monday. And a new regul...

What are your big three...in cheeses? I'm a Baby Swiss Sun, an Espresso Cheese Moon, and a Pecorino Romano Rising. Yep. In her book, Cheese Astrology: A Weekly Guide, author Tabitha Dial walks you through each decan of the zodiac in the most delicious way possible. And in this episode, we're cutting up the cosmic charcuterie and exploring how this book came to be. Want to find your cheese placemen...

A day late, sorry about that! I recorded July 13, and the forecast is good all week.

Sometimes, Saturn smacks ya. Especially if you're not suspecting it. But think of Saturn's smacks like birthday whacks. They're the lessons life throws your way to stretch you, test you, and build you into a more nuanced version of yourself. That's what this episode is all about. Listen for an explanation of Saturn's energy, what it means for a planet to be in domicile vs. detr...

The Fool bravely leaps off a cliff, loyal little dog at his heel, not a care in the world because he's diving into the next phase of his life. He hasn't planned for this next phase; his only plan is to take it as it comes. The Tower...is burning. And getting struck by lightning. It's a hot mess over there, which is why the people are diving out. At first glance, these cards don't a...

Whoah, two podcast drops in a day?? Yes. Because last week got busy, so this episode is the one that was supposed to come out last Thursday. Check out the second half of my conversation with Scarlett Seebach, where I read her natal chart and she reads my Human Design chart. In it, we compare the two systems and see how many similarities we find...and how they differ! We both learned a ton about th...

Imagine this: You're a reiki practitioner, and your client has an injury you just can't heal from this plane. It's not that you can't heal the injury, you can...but only if you can get past the physical limitations of being a flesh-and-blood human. What do you do? You invent a new kind of reiki that makes it possible to get out of your physical body and heal that client's wound...

I'm trying something new :) Every Monday, tune in for Omg Tarot's weekly tarot forecast. No, this is NOT replacing our regularly scheduled chats and deep dives on the regular pod. It's just something extra. And you get to actually see the cards I pull.

A lot of people who sit for readings with me tell me the same thing: "I've never done this before." And honestly? Great. I kind of like being somebody's first experience with tarot because I know I'm setting the bar high. I'm making sure their first experience is a great one, even if the message is something that involves the 5 of Pentacles or 3 of Swords (which sometimes...

Numbers are integral to tarot. Literally every card has a number, and each number has a meaning. But it goes deeper than this. In tarot, the numbers on the cards you pull give you their context. A 4 may generally mean stability, but a 4 that follows a 9 tells a very different story than a 4 that follows a 2 or an ace. That's what tarot reader, charm caster and numerologist Dina Berrin and I ar...

In this episode, I'm sitting down with Niels Vantzuriel, creator of The Arrival Method and co-founder of Adventures in Quiet Places. Through The Arrival Method, Niels and his partner help high-achieving women who are ready to change their lives do just that: change their lives by connecting with Ireland's ancient spiritual landscape. In our interview, we chat The Arrival method, the fae, w...

What's the most important thing for a tarot reader? Intuition. Are some people born gifted with intuition and others, not so much? NO. We are all intuitive. We are all capable of developing intuitive skills. And the tough truth is, we live in a world that actively works against this development, with constant stimulation and lives so tightly scheduled that there's barely a moment to just s...

In this episode, we take a little detour from tarot to explore another famous deck: the 52-card deck you play poker, rummy, war and go fish with. Based on your birthday, you have a birth card, a personality card, and a whole constellation of other cards that, if you learn how to work with their energy, can help you live your best life. I sat down with Alexander and Vikki of The Source cards to dis...

It happens. Sometimes, when you're reading tarot for somebody, the message doesn't resonate. And other times, the message may very well resonate, but it's not what the querent wanted to hear...so they act like it doesn't resonate. Or they argue with you. Or they insert their own interpretation. What should you do in these scenarios? Although they look similar on the surface, they're really three d...

I talk about the Rider Waite Smith deck a lot on this podcast, and that's for one simple reason: it's referenced just about everywhere and it's the template for a lot of modern decks. So my thought is, using it as a frame of reference means you can either pull out your copy and follow along or visualize your way through the podcast if you're listening while you drive or do somethin...

You might've noticed there are a few angels in the Rider Waite Smith deck. There's the one looming above The Lovers, the one passing water between cups on Temperance, and the one blowing the horn on Judgment to raise up the dead. But there are a few more angelic references too, like the angel baby face on the Queen of Swords' throne. Why is it there? What does an angel baby have to do...

In the Rider Waite Smith deck and a significant number of decks that have followed, there are figures in the corners of The Wheel of Fortune and The World. They're a bull, an eagle, a lion, and an angel. You might have heard that these figures represent the four fixed signs: Taurus, Scorpio, Leo, and Aquarius. That explanation isn't wrong, but it only tells part of the story. The truth is,...
