The Christian faith offers plausible explanations for the central puzzles of our existence, such as our capacity for idea-making, our experience of beauty and suffering, and our inability to create a just social order. When compared with materialism or other sets of beliefs, Christianity provides a more comprehensive framework for understanding human life as we actually live it.

Genesis 2 gives us a compelling vision of who we are.

What if there’s another way to look the Creation story? If we look at Genesis 1 from different angles, is it possible that science & faith could actually line up? Is it possible to be a modern, educated, scientifically-minded suburbanite AND believe that this is the very Word of God?

Dr. Jennifer Wiseman is a leading astrophysicist. She has degrees from MIT and Harvard. She discovered a comet, which is now named after her. And she believes in God. In an age where science and faith are often viewed as opposites, Dr. Wiseman offers a unique perspective.

In the Passover, God invited His People into a beginning. This God ordained moment tells who we are, who God is, and how to live.

Hosea is the intensely personal (& just plain intense) story of a prophet who was told to take an adulterous wife so that God’s People could see what their unfaithfulness to God was like. In Hosea 1-2, we meet the family and get a glimpse of what home life in this tumultuous home.

In our relationship with God, there’s a razor’s edge of love & fear. You won’t love a God that you only fear. You won’t worship a God that you only love. But the Scriptures introduce us to a God who is both lovely and fearful, gracious and holy, savior and judge.

God’s approval is NOT a competitive sport. No matter how spotty your performance, whether you’ve followed all the rules or not, God’s pleasure, His righteousness, His promise of justification is not dependent upon your performance. It’s dependence upon Christ Alone.

What you think about is what you love. What you love is what you do. And what you do over & over again is who you are becoming. Make a habit of renewing your mind and become the person that God is calling you to be.
