Natural Six

Big Brent energy. Well, he's done it again. He may forget the basic rules sometimes , but by god can he make us cry. Learn the origin's of Kel's flute, the thinking behind the visions everyone had (and didn't have), and the power of speaking to characters beyond the mortal realm. Also shout-out to Alex for his commitment to the bit during the episode, but the tux had to come off, it's hot in that...

Things can surface whether you’re ready for them or not, a past drifting up, a present holding steady, or a future that leaves you with more questions than answers. Reflections don’t always clarify so much as they reveal, and not everyone is ready to accept what waits beneath the surface. Impatience has a way of being louder than wisdom, but magic has little interest in being shouted into submissi...

Kel with HIS spoons. This episode of Action Surge is a little different, but before you find out why, please enjoy a very long-winded explanation about why Ben got pizza sauce on his top. Turns out we got REALLY unlucky (or very lucky, if you love narratively satisfying storytelling) in our d4 rolls for the trial. But that's pretty par for the course by now really. Find out which dark and twisted...

Some moments don’t wait for speeches or second thoughts, because in the space between one breath and the next, perfection can become perilous when the gauntlet begins. Sharpen your senses, steady your nerves, and take the initiative to jump into the fray, because while beauty may be in the eye of the beholder, it’s best not to look it directly in the eye. Confidence might be slowly peeled away and...

This episode was a nice reminder that you never quite know what you are going to get. We mean, who knew that trees would love a bit of gossip? It’s wild to think that everything with the now aptly named Sword of the Flood, a cursed item that is a shock to absolutely nobody, started all the way back in episode 37. It really shows just how much has happened, and how far we have come (ugh) as a group...

When who you are and who you might become begin to blur, it’s no longer about the enemy you’re facing, but the truth you’ve been avoiding.  A promise of power doesn’t mean it belongs in your hands. Strength can be taken, it can be wielded, but it’s not the only way to endure. Sometimes the fight is not against the unknown, but against something that understands you all too well. And when nigh...

The action is surging. It's very surgy. Out of a possible 600, we got 542, which, considering the investment we have made into this city, does feel pretty fair, even if we did have to end this episode on a slightly more serious note. And no, we are not talking about a pickled egg pocket. Harry walks us through the mechanics of the city and what helped us land such a strong result in the mustering....

As the echoes of celebration fade, what remains are the conversations that linger long after the music has stopped. In the quiet aftermath of joy, truths surface more easily, fears are shared more freely, and the weight of what comes next can no longer be ignored. When the night ends, leadership is no longer a title to avoid, but a role that must be claimed. Yet even as resolve hardens, doubt find...

We’re high on life, we’re high on ourselves, and Ben Starr is all shirt. We’ve made it to Episode 50, so naturally the conversation turns to rolling for ejaculation. Harry did warn us that if you play stupid games, you win stupid prizes. Unfortunately for him, he underestimated just how stupid the games we’re willing to play actually are, and now he’s somehow having to shoehorn that energy into wh...

Sometimes, amid the pain and the long road behind you, moments of joy find their way through. Milestones worth celebrating, not because they have been easy, but because of everything it took to reach them. A chance to breathe, to relax, and to remember why you keep going at all. After all, when you’re feeling a little stiff, a moment of relaxation can ease tension you didn’t even know you had. And...

Alex is a slow burn hottie and we cannot lie, which is wild, given that none of this is real. We start by doing Aoife’s favourite thing, praising her. She did an incredible job with the story and we absolutely need to celebrate that, even if she refuses to let us. Harry then reveals the true purpose of Talisca, and how the mechanics of the city were all designed around us, finally accepting that w...

There are stories that live in the moonlight, and carried by voices willing to give them breath. Tales passed down, reshaped, and shared again, woven with hope, wonder, and the reminder that beauty is worth protecting. In the glow of lanterns, a single story rises above the quiet, gathering hearts together in a moment almost bright enough to chase the shadows away. But even the most hopeful tale m...

Want to know how the sausage was made? Well, in this week’s episode of Action Surge, we reveal far too much. Including how Doug removed and ate the filling from a sausage roll, then folded the pastry back together and put it back in the bag. Frankly, abhorrent. Once we have accepted that Doug might be a killer, it is back to D&D. We talk about those little shards of broken gem, and how utterly...

There are times when victory tastes sweet, when flowers bloom, and cheers swell, and the world feels ready to celebrate. But even triumph can feel heavy when the noise grows too loud and when the eyes that follow expect too much. Sometimes the only way to breathe is to slip away and wander the quieter corners of a city that no longer remembers how to shine. For in the places where stories were onc...

Aoife went out for milk. We are sure she will come back for us eventually, but while we wait for her return and her love, let’s talk about everything that happened in episode 47, and a whole bunch of other stuff, too. This episode really was all about the race, and we absolutely have to give Harry his flowers for everything he put together and how perfectly it came together in the end. A special m...

There are moments when spirits sink low, and the world needs something bold enough to send a ripple running through the darkness. Hope always has a way of coming back to the surface, rising on a swell of laughter, competition, and the kind of enthusiasm that refuses to stay anchored for long. Sometimes all it takes is a little mischief to keep the current moving. And when the race begins? Well, de...

We like 'em cold, we like 'em hot. It's time for this week’s Action Surge! This week we talk about bad luck, poor rolls, and everyone’s note-taking abilities. Nobody will be surprised to learn that some people are better at this than others. Welcome to the Alex Jordan mind palace. We think everyone agrees that the Temple of the Once Wild was a pretty special place. We talk about Magnus, Harry’s in...

Sometimes a spark is all you need. A twinkle in a tavern window, a reminder that even in a world where the shadows threaten to flood, light can still be found. And when talk turns to chance, it becomes easy to wonder what might happen if you are willing to take the risk. Even if you only have a 10% chance of succeeding, sometimes it is more about the adventure you have along the way. Yet certainty...

Join us for the second part of our adventure with Drakonym, a brand-new TTRPG coming soon from the team at ⁨Crossed Paths With Ruby Rebellion sashes in hand, the race is on. Not soldiers, not quite, but to move forward they must prove themselves, not through loyalty or words, but action. Competition has a way of sharpening things. Old rivalries resurface, tempers fray, and the line between friendl...

This might genuinely be some of the dumbest nonsense we have ever done. An avalanche, but backwards, improvised on the spot. Sure. Why not. We start this week’s Action Surge with a quick visit to the media pen, because it is all about those important post-race interviews. Eyes firmly on the prize as we reflect on what was, honestly, an incredibly fitting conclusion for a horrible, misshapen horse....

This Christmas, we are taking a little break from Reliquiae and heading somewhere far more festive! Welcome to Santa’s workshop, where the party is over, the mess is real, and our characters are very much on clean-up duty. Alex takes the reins for a festive one-shot where our elves (well, technically gnomes, but you get the idea) are paying the price and dealing with more than just the mess from t...

An interesting episode of Action Surge this week. Mark at Crafted Campaigns made pretty much everyone hot, and once we recovered from the bi-panic he managed to induce, we had plenty to discuss. We start by talking about how this might not have been a deadly encounter, but that did not mean we could afford to take too many hits. And this time, I (the character, not the me) did not shrink away! We...

Strength may hold you steady, but in the chaos of battle, when fear takes hold, even the surest hands can falter, and what once felt like control can begin to slip away. When reality feels like a nightmare, and dreams feel like the truth, trust begins to fracture beneath the weight of doubt, and when everything you love might slip away, whispers of power can be too sweet to resist. But between the...
