Welcome to Mr. Suave's locked down, shut down, quarantined mod world. Periods of upheaval and trauma often result in amazing bursts of art -- physical art, written art, recorded art, all sorts of art. Since right after the global shut down I started scouring the interwebs for artists who were producing new music from lockdown. And I found it. Lots of it. More than one modcast could possibly contai...

Lots of mod and mod friendly bands have experimented with sophistipop over the years, ultimately paving the way for the acid jazz sound that we've all come to love. Here then are some from across the span of time of the modcast that have dabbled in such sophisticated songmanshi...

Three minutes, three chords, and skinny ties is the one of the best recipes for music. This week I've got your full meal deal of mostly late 70s and early 80s power pop. The tracks here are what I fondly call lesser lights, not as a slight, but rather as an acknowledgement that they should've been so much more. There are at least a dozen shoulda been hits right here in this modcast. As always find...
