How do you win when the odds are stacked against you? Is coping keeping you stuck and keeping you from conquering and winning? Mike Hilson shows how Gideon, instead of coping and getting stuck in how the situation looked, he trusted in God and won. We are tasked to act and we let God take care of the how, even despite the odds we are facing. This teaching was aired on February 26, 2023.

Trusting God is never easy. What God asks of us usually doesn’t make any sense. But because we can’t see how it will work out it requires us to trust God all the more. If you knew how it will turn out then you wouldn’t need to trust God. God wants to call us to a place of deep and utter trust in Him and Him alone. God wants us to rely on His strength and plan and not our own. Mike Hilson teaches h...

Many times in the Bible the idea of testing God comes up. In Malachi, in the gospels and in the story of Gideon testing God is a main idea that comes up. But in some it is a bad thing to do but in other places God tells people to test Him, so what do we do? Mike Hilson explains the reasoning and motive behind Gideon testing God and why in this instance God obliges. This teaching was aired on Febru...

Is it okay to question God? Is questioning God a sin? Is it something we should stay away from? God knows everything but many times when God asks questions it isn’t for His knowledge but for our perspective. In the same way when Gideon asks God questions it shows where Gideon is. He asks from the heart and lays out all of his doubts to God. And through the questions God is able to come close and g...

God doesn’t often talk to us with an audible voice. If that is the case then how do we hear and communicate with Him? A big reason we can’t hear from God is because we are absent from the presence of God. If we are actively walking with God we learn his ways, mannerisms, and will. Mike Hilson explains how the people in Gideon’s times heard from God. This teaching was aired on January 29, 2023

How do we reach the world with our simple gospel? Well I think that’s just it. Keeping the gospel simple is the key to drawing people closer to Jesus. So often we overcomplicate things. We make rules and standards that keep people away from the simple gospel of Jesus. It's time for us to go back to the basics of loving God completely and people completely. This teaching was aired on April 2, 2023

What is a shallow faith? What will it take to grow deeper in our faith and have a commitment to Him? What is it that we really want from following Jesus? Do we just want the blessing of God? If that’s the case then does that make our motive selfish? If we want to avoid selfish faith then what are the steps to step away from that. Today we go over the story of the rich, young ruler and see how we c...

Following Jesus sounds great and easy. We like to believe that Jesus will just wipe away our sins and life will be easy but that isn’t what Jesus promises. Jesus clearly said that “In this life you will have trouble” so we should expect to face trials and troubles. Accepting Jesus and receiving salvation is easy but following Jesus takes work and sacrifice. Carrying a cross is a brutal and agonizi...

As Jesus preached and did ministry in His life on earth He brought the light of God to everyone around Him. He brought hope to the hopeless in the most amazing ways. Ready for the hard part? Just as Jesus was when He was here we are supposed to imitate Jesus likewise. We are supposed to bring the light and hope of God wherever we go just as Jesus did. Mike HIlson teaches why we have to bring the h...

Jesus’ invitation isn’t complex. All God says is “Follow Me” but that isn’t the only and final step. We have to accept this simple invitation with a simple response of going and following. Mike Hilson preaches out of the book of Mark on the gospel of Jesus and how simple that actually is. God doesn’t want a relationship with Him to be complicated and hard to obtain but simple and easy. We have a G...
