"My first love was always House music, thanks to a strict diet from my relapsed raver of a Mum. Hip-Hop is a passion that came much later. Ever since I've been trying to reconcile these. This mix is my first (successful) foray into bringing those two loves together."

Off-Switch Audio welcomes Bristol-based artist Ohm Collider to the label with a four-track EP. The four tracks from this EP all sit just below the 140bpm mark, exploring melodic and club focussed styles with a distinct signature sound. Silk brings the vibes with emotive intro melodies on an airy backdrop of textural pads. This moves into a euphoric anthem of crisp percussion and weighty low-end, t...

"It was a realllllly long winter for myriad reasons and so i thought it would be fun and rejuvenating to mark time and celebrate spring finally arriving (late imho!). i wanted to create something light and airy - in direct opposition to the feelings i was having over the winter. imagining flowers and trees budding, the smell of green grass, chirping birds, longer days, people on the street and in...

"I wanted to craft something polyrhythmic and groovey while focusing on the idea of stretching time and slowing things down. I’ve been loving the resurgence of funky hard groove techno and wanted to make a mix with this sound in mind while slowing down a lot of the tracks (by 10/15 bpm at least). In general, I’ve been enjoying a s lower and more considered pace in my life and this mix has a bit of...

"We created this label to experiment. At its core, Lost in Translation aims to be a platform for artists to explore new approaches to musical storytelling, walk roads less travelled and see what happens. It is with this in mind that we are excited to announce the first volume of our Short Stories series, coming out on May 23rd. The brief provided to the artists was simple: tell a story. With a lin...

"We played a load of club shows last year that got us excited about different energies in a mix; some feel-good house numbers, some heavier breaks moments, some darker warehouse energy. This mix is a real reflection of what we’re loving at the moment when we’re in a club space and ties in nicely with the vibe we wanted to capture on our forthcoming EP, ‘Sunblind’. https://soundcloud.com/jacana-peo...

"One of the most idyllic sounds to my ears is this sweet spot between tech house and minimal with a touch of dub influence - this is purely that for me. It’s driving enough to get you moving but chill enough to throw on in the background of whatever you’re doing, in other words, my ideal mix. I hope you enjoy it!' "I started this mix thinking it was going to be full tilt trance but after I looked at some of the songs I really wanted to include I noticed that many of could be considered trance inducing, but weren’t really trance. I decided to focus on trance-not-trance songs, intensely rhythmic and easy to lose yourself in, but missing the typical over the top euphoria or edge of more typical trance. I also...
