Grandma's Bible Stories

God solemnly warned Lot to leave the wicked cities of Sodom and Gomorrah because he was going to destroy them for their evil ways. Lot was reluctant to leave until some visitors almost hauled him out of the city.

Despite God's many promises, Abraham decided he needed to take his lineage into his own hands. So Ishmael was born by Hagar, and yet, this was still not the seed that God had promised.

As Abram and Sarai grew older, it seemed like God's promise of many descendants couldn't come true. But God, who is ever faithful, reaffirmed his promise again and again to them.

God blessed Abram, as he had promised, and his household continued to grow. After a while, Abram needed to separate himself from Lot to avoid any further quarrels.

Even Abram, known in Hebrews 11 as a man of great faith, struggled with his faith at times. Fearing for his life, he told a half-truth to the king of Egypt and got his entire family thrown out of Egypt, rather than trusting God.

After the people of the earth had scattered, God called Abram to leave his land to go to the promised land. Even though Abram never received these full promises himself, he indeed became the father of many nations.

After the flood, everyone was all together in one place. In defiance of God's charge to spread across the face of the earth, man stayed together to build a huge tower to heaven. That is until God intervened.

Because of sin in the world, God destroyed the whole earth, except Noah and his family. It was right around a year until they were finally delivered from the ark.

As the world descended into more and more sin, God was going to wipe everyone off the face of the earth, except for one man and his family - Noah.

After Adam and Eve's sin and punishment, sin continued to spread through the world in the worst way possible.

After Adam and Eve sinned by eating from the tree they were commanded not to, God punished them. But he also gave them hope of a savior!
