Episode 152: Bull Moon Rising // Ruby Dixon 30.10.2024 29:13
Ruby had me in this book, it was like she said “ I’m gonna tell you what’s gonna happen but now you have to wait most of the book until it does happen”. For the Mother/Sister standard, no no no. Mostly because the spice level 5/5! This is a Monster(Tauren)/Human marriage of convenience. Ruby knows how to create an immersive world with culture, outlaying the societal norms within the society and ho...

Episode 150: Love in the Time of Serial Killers // Alicia Thompson 15.10.2024 23:16
Do you love True Crime? Our main girl Phoebe is obsessed, she is even doing her dissertation on the relationship between author and subject. It was actually such a fascinating and fun read! Very tame in the spicy department but enough tension that had me keep reading. For sure the vibe we needed for a cute spooky episode.
Episode 149: A Witch's Guide to Fake Dating a Demon // Sarah Hawley 08.10.2024 21:23
It's spooky season y'all! I thought i'd start off the month with a super cute witch/demon rom-com. So cute, a very fun plot, and character growth that makes you root for our main female Mariel- she is such a sweet witch and Oz (MMC) encourages her to be proud of her magic and of herself. The tension between them is palpable and I was living for it! Definitely recommend!
Episode 148: The Kiss Quotient // Helen Hoang 01.10.2024 27:59
Wow. Wow. Wow. Stella is a beautifully complex character who does not want to be identified by her Autism. Michael is more than his surface level occupation as an escort. If you are looking for relatability to character thoughts and feelings, this is a perfect read. I genuinely loved that this book opened my mind to look past the stigmas and culture norms i've been surrounded by. This is an incred...
Episode 147: Flawless // Elsie Silver 24.09.2024 20:53
First off, I want to apologize for taking so long to read this book! And this series! I am already deep into the 3rd book and i'm not coming up for air until I finish LOL! Cowboys. Grumpy MC.City Girl. Sexual TENSION!! Absolutely 10/10 give me more.
Episode 146: The Pumpkin Spice Cafe / The Cinnamon Bun Book Store // Laurie Gilmore 17.09.2024 24:23
AUTUMN. PUMPKINS. SMALL TOWN. GRUMPY/SUNSHINE. GILMORE GIRLS. Can you feel the vibe? I devoured these sweet treats! Absolutely adorable, give me 17 of them.
Episode 145: A Cage of Crimson // K.F. Breene 11.09.2024 20:11
A dark retelling of the fairytale Red Riding Hood...ok I was intrigued. It got spicy real quick with werewolf true mates, nbd. The story was good but the pacing was painfully slow. Not alot of scene movement in this book. I do think you need to read the other books in the little series for more world building because I was confused in a few parts. Overall just good!
Episode 144: Daydream // Hannah Grace 03.09.2024 24:12
I've been waiting for a book on Henry since the series came out, and I was NOT disappointed. If anything it solidified my love for him and how vulnerable he is with his struggles. He is a neurodivergent like me, so the ways I was able to relate to this book made it that much better. I highly recommend this book! Listen to Episode 66 and 111 for Books 1 and 2!
Episode 143: Out on a Limb // Hannah Bonam-Young 27.08.2024 27:57
You need this book in your life, I devoured it. It passes the mother/sister standard for both of them, and is just the right amount of spice for me but also left me wanting more. The characters are so quirky and sunshine that you instantly love them and the side characters. All around, definitely another new favorite.
Episode 142: Yours Truly // Abby Jimenez 20.08.2024 22:50
EASILY a top 5 favorite book, not even joking. This book even passes the Mother/Sister standard. They will be reading this, im not giving them a choice. The humor, the banter, the relatable characters, their quirks. Everything. Give me more.
Episode 141: Quicksilver // Callie Hart 18.08.2024 39:49
This is one of those books where I immediately knew I would recommend to everyone. Everything was laid out perfectly. The pacing was on point, the characters were so well rounded, and the enermies to lovers aspect was top notch. I highly recommend this fantasy!
Episode 140: The Fiancé Dilemma // Elena Armas 06.08.2024 23:58
*Paging miss Armas* Ok girl, this book was fun and the tone was quick and poppy. I loved the story, the character growth of Josie being a people pleaser and then standing up for herself was perfect. Matthew was clever and protective, it was adorable. Overall- would recommend!
Episode 139: The UnHoneymooners // Christina Lauren 30.07.2024 28:48
I am always down for a romantic comedy, especially when its a book. The humor brings out the best (usually) in a character and I just overall enjoy the book way more. The Unhoneymooners was a hit! I instantly was hooked into what was going on at the wedding and who each person was, I don't think I put down the book until I had finished. Also I WOULD recommend to my sister AND mom, I'm going to mak...
Episode 138: The Coven // Harper L. Woods 23.07.2024 35:27
Solid witchy vibes to start off an early spooky season ;) Willow is a smart and capable main female character and I even though she did get played a couple times in the book, she gets up, dusts her feet off and keeps going. As for our MMC Gray, check the trigger warnings in the beginning. And in all honesty I don't like him, I didn't like him the whole book. There were no redeeming qualities about...
Episode 137: Not in Love // Ali Hazelwood 16.07.2024 32:33
I found that Ali Hazelwood is a pretty divisive author. Her stories often feature a heroine that does not fit in. Which say hello to Rue, a food scientist who isn’t very personable Once the story is set up and the main characters are consistently in each other's orbit, the intimacy develops in a natural and satisfying way, both through sex and through conversations they share. I loved the complexi...
Episode 136: The Book of Azrael // Amber V. Nicole 09.07.2024 29:48
We've got monsters, we've got gods, we've got a slow burn on our hands! I definitely liked this book, I wouldn't say i loved it, but if someone were to ask if I recommend it, absolutely. It could've been just me but I was confused quite a few times with the world building and the spice level was too low for me, BUT very solid start to a series of 4 books.
Episode 135: Change of Heart // Kate Canterbary 02.07.2024 30:22
Every summer, surgeon Whitney crashes weddings with her best friend. Which let's be honest is very bold and i would be way too terrified so it definitely would tip someone off that we didn't belong...They keep the rules simple and they never go to bed alone. Then there’s Henry, WE LOVE HENRY. He is the best man and the best one-night stand of Whit’s summer. She never imagined she’d see him again b...
Episode 134: King of Wrath (Kings of Sin Book 1)// Ana Huang 25.06.2024 27:26
"A steamy arranged marriage billionaire romance" . IMMEDIATELY YES. Like I am about to devour this series. Hooked. First chapter, ok hi mr.dante we love a grumpy arrogant billionaire that stubbornly doesn't want to fall in love but in reality he falls first. 10/10 recommend picking this up immediately.
Episode 133: Fall of Ruin and Wrath // Jennifer Armentrout 18.06.2024 31:39
Y'all, I struggled with this book. I can't lie, I usually love Jennifer Armentrout books and have always been a fan but unfortunately I don't think I can recommend this. Apparently i'm going against 8k 5-stars review on amazon, so take all this as you will lol. It had so much potential and I really wanted to like these characters, but there just wasn't enough to connect me to them and want to root...
Episode 132: [ft. Sister] The Dark Window // Rachel Gillig 04.06.2024 50:11
So excited for Chan to join me to talk about this incredible book! We devoured this series and decided they are for sure in our top 20 of all time. The characters, the magic system, the plot, all of it was absolutely spot on! I highly recommend you move this book up on your TBR!
Episode 131: [Ft. Husband] A Wolf in Duke's Clothing // Susanna Allen 28.05.2024 25:02
I'm glad Husband was here to talk about these fun books together! Mating with Mallows by Nora Noodles was a SWEET surprise and I secretly loved it. And I wish I loved more books in the regency era but I just couldn't figure out the words in Wolf in Duke's clothing, haha!
