Digital Noise

DIGITAL NOISE EPISODE 359 – THIS PODCAST, EVERYONE LISTENING TO IT, THEIR EXPERIMENT Chris and Wright have some heavy lifting to do here if humanity is to survive our nightmarish future. That means turning you on to the right home release movies (it’s key, don’t question it, your ancestors will thank us). That means diving […]

DIGITAL NOISE EPISODE 358: SPEED RUN I know, I know, when we get these giant stacks to cover, we always say we are gonna race through them and then we never do and you end up with a 3 hour episode. Well, Voila: John and Chris make the announcement for a speed run with their […]

DIGITAL NOISE EPISODE 357: THE EP ADDED TO THE NATIONAL FILM REGISTRY BY THE LIBRARY OF CONGRESS No, not really, but we do have a TON of films to talk about this week that were added to the National Film Registry. So, ya know, really good. Wright and Chris have trouble keeping from over-gushing about […]

DIGITAL NOISE EPISODE 356: OMG WRIGHT IS A ROBOT! Mighty belchy here in the Digital Noise studios this week as Wright and Chris made the poor decision to gorge on Indian food before the show. But the show is a gas as we look at one of the greatest films ever made that neither one […]

DIGITAL NOISE EPISODE 355: THE GREATEST STACK OF ALL TIME It’s vanishingly rare that we have a week that both reviewers ‘more or less’ enjoyed every movie in our stack (I don’t think it’s EVER happened that we LOVED every title) so for John and Chris, this was a landmark of ‘yeah, this was okay’. […]

DIGITAL NOISE EPISODE 354: THAT ORCA DESERVES HIS REVENGE, AND THOSE PEOPLE DESERVE TO DIE Chris and Wright have a ton of goofy fun with this week’s stack of home releases. To what is probably the best of the Jaws rip-offs of the 70s (a low bar), to a horror movie where the joke is […]

DIGITAL NOISE EPISODE 353: FASTER DIGITAL NOISE, REVIEW! REVIEW! John and Chris have a mighty stack of home releases to review this week (again). From expressing adoration for the best soft-core filmmaker ever, to outright love for one of the best and darkest films of the 90s. From Lovecraftian slow-burn horror, to DePalma (but not […]

DIGITAL NOISE EPISODE 352: HIDDEN GEMS Chris and Wright get a stack packed with some real winners: some older all-timers that are new to one or both of them, some acknowledged classics with fantastic 4k upgrades, and at least one that has been a bucket-list item for them for a very long time and more […]

DIGITAL NOISE EPISODE 351: JOHN AND CHRIS UP ALL NIGHT John and Chris do a record-length show (for them) but in their defense, the box-sets this week, which are sizable, were covered at length. From the first four forays into hell, to some b-sides of J-horror. From a beloved modern Halloween classic, to one of […]

DIGITAL NOISE EPISODE 350: SOME WEIRD COOL STUFF Wright and Chris record a Digital Noise episode so long that it should be nominated for Best Picture this year. From a criminally underseen classic in the vein of the Coen Brothers (but not by them), to a Spanish classic where a dog plays Tommy Lee Jones. […]

DIGITAL NOISE EPISODE 349: The LAST 2024 EPISODE IN 2025 With the variable pressures of the holiday season, Chris and John are sorry that they were unable to get this Xmas Digital Noise episode up until 2025. And so it goes. But we do have some great stuff to talk about this week from one […]

DIGITAL NOISE EPISODE 348: LATE NIGHT WITH CHRIS AND WRIGHT Some off-color antics pervade this week’s episode of Digital Noise with Chris and Wright and who can blame them? It’s a tough stack. From a collection of the best-worst 80s tits and teens cheapies, to a rightfully maligned film legend’s daughter giving it her own […]

DIGITAL NOISE EPISODE 347: …FEATURING JOHN GHOLSON If John becomes a big star, what are we gonna do? Gotta retitle the podcast. Sorry Wright, it might be confusing to fans for the eps you’re on. This week John and Chris look at two battles against the gods upgraded to 4k, two french crime films from […]

DIGITAL NOISE EPISODE 346: THE MEN FROM DIGITAL NOISE Chris and Wright have a stack that goes all over the place, from deadly electrified motorcycle beach killers to Costner “classics” getting a not-so-great reevaluation. From Bowie playing a con-man working with Rosanna Arquette to rob a restaurant, to a giant spider eating people in an […]

DIGITAL NOISE EPISODE 345: TAKE THE TWISTER CHALLENGE John and Chris review a really big stack this week of home releases. Some good. Some bad. Some EXTREMELY bad. And some surprisingly wonderful. From the film that set the standard for hitman movies, to that 90s Gene Hackman thriller on a train you never saw (but […]

DIGITAL NOISE EPISODE 344: PURPLE VELVET FICTION MACHINE Chris and Wright have an epic-list this week of titles and despite having a bunch of classics on it, Wright has never seen any of them. From the purple-clad adventures of “The Kid”, to a young Tony Perkins getting a good talking-to from Henry Fonda. From an […]

DIGITAL NOISE EPISODE 343: DIGITAL DREAM John and Chris review home releases together. This is the podcast they review them on. You should listen and subscribe because then you get to hear stuff like their take on Burt Reynolds trying to do a mature romantic dramedy (not great); How you divvy up one of the […]

DIGITAL NOISE EPISODE 342: THE ENDLESS PODCAST Chris and Wright got a little carried away this week with having fun and turned in an epic-length show, but to be fair, there WERE a lot of titles to talk about. From a Russian/American hidden gem of a thriller from the 90s, to a bizarre Russian/Chinese hybrid […]

DIGITAL NOISE EPISODE 341: TWO MEN, ONE STACK John and Chris dive in and sip from the stack with some films they both really should have seen before now, and some you wonder why anyone ever saw. From a bizarre Italian erotic thriller with sax sex, to Owen Wilson playing a very Owen Wilson-esque serial […]

DIGITAL NOISE EPISODE 340: DIE FOR DIGITAL NOISE Chris and Wright have a grand ol’ time with today’s stack, despite having very mixed results. From a giant alligator Jaws rip-off cheapie to one of the best terrible films we’ve ever seen. From an 80s forgotten Gene Hackman/Matt Dillon international spy thriller to a delightful feminist […]

DIGITAL NOISE EPISODE 339: YACHT ROCK THEME SONG John and Chris take on some home releases with a look at the final Leone Western and an analysis of a director through the window of his inspiration from a beloved children’s film. We look at some folks trying to make a NEW Marx Brothers movie and […]

DIGITAL NOISE EPISODE 338: SICK WITH THE COLOR OF FEAR Chris and Wright stick their noses into the pile of home releases and come up with a look at the very best of the ‘viral plague’ thrillers now in 4k, a weirdly meta-martial arts movie from last year, a HK sorta-version of The Frighteners, two […]

DIGITAL NOISE EPISODE 337: DIGITAL WARRIORS HAVE COME OUT TO PLAY John and Chris take on their stack with aplomb and yet don’t see eye to eye on everything this week. From a stack of very different Hong Kong films that range from Police Academy variants to the HK version of Dead Heat, to a […]

DIGITAL NOISE EPISODE 336: SHATNER SAVES ODDJOB Chris and Wright do their due diligence with Digital Noise as they get into a tasty stack of releases. From Shatner as a psychopathic killer, to billions of Earths and their related supes gone forever. From a sleazy Warren Beatty in a very realistic old west, to Burt […]

GHOSTBUSTERS: FROZEN EMPIRE MOVIE REVIEW The time for busting has resumed, only whether it’ll make you feel good certainly seems pretty polarizing this time around. Ok, really every time around when The Ghostbusters have another film, even, apparently in retrospect now, the original. Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire follows the events of 2021’s Ghostbusters: Afterlife which brought […]
