Conference Messages | Four12

Four12 is a global partnership of churches longing to live out Authentic New Testament Christianity and working together to Equip, Restore and Advance the church that Jesus Himself is building. We take our cue from Ephesians 4:12 which tells us that Christ gave gifts to the body, “to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ”. As a vivid reminder of this mandate, we are called, Four12.This is a Four12 podcast.

Slaying Your Giants | Jonathan Stanfield 29.09.2024

Day and night satan is accusing us, trying to intimidate us - when we lose perspective, those tactics can become giants in our lives. Jonathan Stanfield reminds us that God calls us to come forth in His strength and face these giants – just like David faced Goliath. The good news is that it is the Lord’s battle, and He will provide the victory, when we submit to His ways and rely on Him. We must m...

The Company We Keep | Jonathan King 28.09.2024

In this session, Jonathan King reminds us of our value in Jesus: that we are precious and loved, but that God is calling us to deeper knowledge of and intimacy with Him – and this requires full surrender. We are the company we keep, and when we keep company with God continually, our identity will be firmly rooted in Christ instead of swayed by the confusion in the world.     Jonatha...

We Will Not Bow Down | Chris Staples 28.09.2024

Modern-day culture is pressing in on us, attacking our identity and causing an identity crisis in the world. It is only in Jesus that we can discover the secure identity He has intended for us from the beginning. In this message, Chris Staples journeys through the account of Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, who stood secure in their identity as followers of the God of Israel – even when the...

Armed With the Word | Eugene Marais 28.09.2024

We find ourselves in a battle with a destructive enemy, and we need spiritual weapons to overcome him. We cannot afford for our weapons to become blunt and rusty. It is vital that we give ourselves to the Word - in its entirety, not just the easy parts.     In this message, Eugene Marais unpacks why it is essential for us to know the Bible, highlighting how weak we are if we a...

Only Good if Understood | Andrew Selley 28.09.2024

*Please note: This message was preached at all three locations of the 2024 Conference in South Africa, and here we offer the Cape Town recording for you to enjoy.  We know that the message of the Gospel is very good, but in order to grasp just how good, we must understand how terrible the alternative is. It is important for believers to grasp the gravity of sin – it is not only what we do, it...

Living in His Presence | Brad Verreynne 28.09.2024

Using a testimony from his own life, Brad Verreynne shares on the importance of coming into God’s presence and letting Him speak His words over our lives. The enemy wants to accuse, intimidate and discourage us, but God wants to wash and fill us with His Spirit. Like Joshua the high priest, the believer’s true position is that of standing before God, in the presence of angelic beings. From that pl...

Jesus | Mervis van der Merwe 27.09.2024

There is nothing more exhilarating to the human heart than the revelation of Jesus. When Jesus asked Peter “Who do you say I am?”, it was God the Father who revealed to Peter that Jesus was the Messiah. It is on this very revelation of who Jesus is, that He will build His Church, and the gates of hell will not prevail against it. Jesus must remain everything to us – all our love and affection focu...

Relating to a Holy God | Daniel Barnard 27.09.2024

We serve a sinless God – He is perfect, but we are not. This causes many of us to wonder how we can relate to Him, and some even to wrongfully withdraw from Him because of His holiness. This is not God’s will for us, because when we grasp His holiness, we experience His glory. As we draw nearer to Him, everything this world has to offer will pale in comparison to Him. In this powerful message, Dan...

The New Covenant | Ryan Kingsley 27.09.2024

The purpose of the Old Covenant was to show us that it is impossible for man to be righteous and to keep God’s laws. When God gave us the New Covenant, it wasn’t that He changed, but He changed the way He relates to us – Jesus made a way for us to live in His righteousness. We can now turn from laws written on stone and embrace His Spirit, who is alive in us and writes God’s laws on our hearts. He...

Contending for Unity | Ashley Gabriel 27.09.2024

In Jesus’ final prayer, He prayed for His disciples, including us. He asked the Father to keep us in unity with Him, and with one another. This shows that unity is of utmost importance to the Lord, and worth contending for. The Word tells us that a house divided against itself cannot stand – if we do not have unity with one another, the enemy can easily get a foothold in our churches. In this mess...

Restoring the Bride | Euan MacRae 27.09.2024

A cruise ship is a large vessel built for passengers who desire comfort and entertainment, but it will not hold up in stormy waters. It is not God’s intent for the New Testament Church to be a vessel like this. Rather, His intent is for us to be a ship of crew members, working together to navigate any seas toward the common goal of advancing the Kingdom of God.     In this message,...

God of Compassion | Roland Paul 11.07.2024

Roland Paul preaches a moving message about God’s compassionate heart towards us, as He chooses to feel our pain and sorrow, and is deeply affected by our hardships. This compassion moves Him to intervene in our lives, just as Jesus was moved by compassion for the crowds around Him. Roland encourages us to see Him as the good Samaritan in our lives: He does not walk away but helps us. By embracing...

Kingdom of Priests | Andrew Selley 11.07.2024

Andrew Selley’s opening message for this Conference epitomize the Lord’s desire is for all believers: to orientate our entire lives around Him and His purposes. Andrew challenges false beliefs about God’s plan for our lives, and shares that we are more than ordinary citizens of His Kingdom – we are priests. The Lord has called all of us into something bigger than many realise, which is to make dis...

Why We Don’t Settle | Lukas Nakos 11.07.2024

In this session, Lukas Nakos builds on the theme of our calling as priests, motivating us by unpacking why we must live our lives to build God’s house. He also helps us by explaining how we can do so. Lukas emphasises that the Lord does not want us to settle, but rather to live extraordinary lives as ambassadors of His Kingdom. He looks at what we can do practically to keep in step with God: we mu...

Come On In | Rousseau Moss 11.07.2024

When we open our homes, we open our lives and, in turn, open our hearts to one another. Rousseau Moss looks at the example the early church set by being devoted to one another in a way we don’t often see in Christianity today. He looks at the life of Jesus, and significant events that happened when He was in people’s homes. When we bring people into our homes, they bring life, and we connect deepe...

Follow Him to Calvary | Richard van de Ruit 11.07.2024

In this session, Richard van de Ruit shares what it truly means when Jesus tells us to take up our cross and follow Him. He encourages us as believers to count the cost of following Jesus, to be able to fulfil the works that the Lord has prepared for us to do. Richard urges us to open our hearts and allow the Holy Spirit to shine His light into the areas of our hearts that we are reserving for our...

Avoiding Shipwreck | Ashley Gabriel 11.07.2024

In this session, Ashley Gabriel reminds us that the Christian journey will bring us to trials and troubles, that Scripture tells us that we must suffer many hardships. These hardships will test one's faith, and therefore saints need encouragement and strengthening. Ashley unpacks how we can stand firm and avoid shipwrecking our faith when facing difficulty. He looks at the importance of the aposto...

Your Kingdom Come | Euan MacRae 11.07.2024

Jesus said, “I must proclaim the good news of the kingdom of God to the other towns also, because that is why I was sent.” (Luke 4:43, NIV). Euan MacRae warns us that many followers of Jesus believe that the Kingdom of God is important but settle for a substandard experience of Jesus that revolves around endless meetings and coffee dates. The disciples were told to pray for the Kingdom of God to c...

Empowered by His Spirit | Jonathan Stanfield 11.07.2024

Jonathan Stanfield preached a stirring message highlighting our need to embrace the presence and power of the Holy Spirit, both in the life of the church and as individual believers. It’s all about His presence. We must be a body where every saint flows in the Holy Spirit and in their spiritual gifts, for each part to do the special work of God. Jonathan shares personal experiences of encountering...

Leaving the World Behind | Peter de Korte 11.07.2024

Peter de Korte teaches powerfully about the paradox of the gospel: to find life, you have to lose your life. He feels that the Lord is asking us: who wants to pick up their cross daily to follow Him? Peter addresses modern false beliefs regarding the message of the gospel, and encourages us to ask ourselves if we are embracing the right perspective – do we have a Kingdom mindset? He reminds us tha...

The Call & The Cost | Ashley Gabriel 17.11.2023

God has chosen and called us to proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ, and to go to the ends of the earth to make disciples of nations (Matthew 28:16-20). But this call comes at a cost. It requires us to die to our comforts and conveniences, and to be prepared to suffer, even to lose our lives for the Gospel.     The cost is great, but the Gospel is worth suffering and losing our l...

Interrupting Faith | Euan MacRae 10.11.2023

We can sometimes have an expectation of how the Lord will respond to us. We limit our thinking of how we believe the Lord wants to treat us. The story of the Centurion’s servant (Luke 7:1-3) shows us that the Lord wants us to have “interrupting faith” that allows Him to break our boxes and enjoy His favour.    What is “interrupting faith"? It exists in a humble heart that is expectant bu...

A Life Worthy of The Calling | Daniel Barnard 03.11.2023

In Ephesians 4:1, Paul pleads with believers to “live a life worthy of the calling [we] have received”. Every person who has received Jesus has been called by Him. We shouldn’t confuse calling with the gifts given to us by the Holy Spirit. The gifts may enable our calling, but they aren’t the calling in itself. Because all believers are called by God, no believer is a “celebrity”, and no believer...

As for Me & My Family | Jonathan Stanfield 27.10.2023

Family matters. The first sheep Jesus calls us to disciple and lead are our family. While ministry is important, we must bring our families through in the Lord and not sacrifice our children on the altar of ministry.    Using the household of Stephanus as an example (1 Corinthians 16:15), Jonathan explains that God’s desire, and the greatest blessing for a family, is salvation. We should...

People of The Way | Kevin Aldridge 20.10.2023

As believers, we are called to be people who follow The Way (Jesus), not our own way. Following Jesus means a willingness to follow Someone who was rejected and marginalised for speaking the truth. People rejected Him because they were offended by Him and His words. They wanted a Jesus of their own making; one who didn’t make them uncomfortable.         &nbs...
