Coco Street's Electrik Cake

Electrik Cake with Coco Street #190 Ms. Coco’s Find Your Light Soulful House Special — The Light We Carry, The Light We Share! Some lights don’t ask for permission to shine. They flicker on in quiet moments. in the middle of storms, in the hush before the beat drops, in the still, small yes that says, I’m still here. This mix is for those lights. The ones carried in tired bodies. The ones rejoicin...

ELECTRIK CAKE WITH COCO STREET 0189 | THE VALIANT QUEEN'S 303 FREAKOUT: GRACE UNDER PRESSURE The Roland 303, which was an unlikely tool of transformation, gave the voiceless a scream. In the hands of outsiders, outcasts, and visionaries, it became a channel for truth and transcendence. This week’s mix reclaims that original scream—not as rebellion for its own sake, but as grace. Fierce, filtered,...

I aimed for this set to smolder and give fragrance like the finest incense. Nothing flashy, just soul and weight. Every track in here tells you something if you’re focused in enough to catch it. No big drops, no mixing tricks — just groove that embraces you and won’t let go. These joints know what it means to carry joy and grief in the same crate. And somehow, between the groove and the chords, yo...

Ms. Coco’s Jazzy Broken Beat Love Letter to Los Angeles is a sonic anthropology of fracture and funk—a meditation on syncopation as resilience. It’s broken not because it’s broken-down, but because it reaches up, skips forward, and makes you listen with your shoulders first. Jazz, soul, and beats converge into something only this city could produce. Tonight, we scatter and reassemble—one chopped s...

Electrik Cake with Coco Street 186 | Ms. Coco’s Funky Soul Disco‑Tech 06022025 Mid‑week, 11‑p.m. Los Angeles: the skyline hums like a circuit left on too long. Inside an unmarked warehouse off Alameda, a 1200 spins, throwing flecks of reflected light onto concrete walls still warm from daytime sun. The first kick lands. Not thunder, but heartbeat. The room exhales. Ms. Coco’s Funky Soul Disco‑Tech...

In a world loud with distraction and thin on support, the reasons to stop are endless. But so are the reasons to continue. This week’s Electrik Cake isn’t about hustle. It’s not about chasing what’s fleeting. It’s about remembering your why — the soul-core reason you started creating in the first place. The sound that encouraged you. The rhythm that impacted you. This mix is a celebration of Afro-...

Basquiat once said, “I cross out words so you will see them more.” That’s the energy behind this week’s mix — bold, electric, layered, but never chaotic. This week’s Electrik Cake walks in the same lineage of Black creativity that is often imitated, and always unforgettable. Like Jean-Michel Basquiat — a DJ, a visionary, and a Los Angeles resident — this mix pushes boundaries while holding down cu...

There’s music that slides in easy. And there’s music that announces itself. That steps to the front of the room with shoulders back and says: I’m here. Pay attention. This week’s mix is for the days you need something with weight. Layers. Intention. It’s for when you’re tired of music made for algorithms and crave something made for your body and your life. It’s sweetness with backbone. Sass with...

This week is NOT about nostalgia. It’s about lineage, how sound transcends and provokes memory, and how Garage House & Techno emerged from different corners of the underground, yet somehow feel like distant relatives (3rd cousins?) at the same family reunion. One soulful. One driven. Both transcendent. This week’s Scrumptious Electrik Cake is a reflection on the dance floor as archive, as wellness...

Electrik Cake With Coco Street 0181 - Notes From The Motherland Last week, we navigated the grit and groove of Bruk and Jazz House—a space where syncopated rhythms pushed us toward reflection and movement. This week, we go beyond the surface, diving deep into the sounds that shape identity and affirm existence. Notes from the Motherland isn’t just about where we’ve been—it’s about the rhythm that...

Neon Crumbz | Grit & Groove: The Second Bruk & Jazz House Special: A Sonic Anthropology Dispatch Last week, we danced through the static of a crumbling world with My Dystopian Playground—a mix built to hold space for uncertainty, reflection, and resilience. This week, we shift into something deeper: not survival mode, but soul mode. Welcome to the Second Bruk & Jazz House Special. This isn’t smoot...
