There is a father absence crisis in America.  According to the U.S. Census Bureau, 19.7 million children, more than 1 in 4, live without a father in the home. Consequently, there is a father factor in nearly all social ills facing America today.

In 1975, this system would try to ensure that after a divorce, we would try to replicate what the household looked like prior to the divorce with regards to the children's well-being. So the father would continue to provide income to the child, and the mother normally would get the child following a divorce in terms of physical custody, and she would use the resources from the father.

The challenges of being a parent.  Having to often balance being the bad guy and a compassionate parent.  Coming to grips that no matter how hard you try you tend to be just like your parent.
